Indie devs aren’t happy with Silksong’s surprise release.
One of them called it “callous”.
But we’re now in a climate where every day has an exceptional game released on Steam. If you want to be noticed, maybe try releasing your game during weekends.
Sounds to me like the Hell is Us creative director is a bit salty about their medium release (
8088% pos reviews) on Steam and tries to find a scapegoat. While the game seems to actually lack some love and creativity compared to Silksong or upcoming Hades 2.never heard of hell is us before.
just checked. 65$ game here. already listing dlc if you prebought the game.
it’s a trash game. don’t even care to look further. any dev that does this, isn’t worth a pinch of racoon shit.

Jesus Christ. I’m not even siding with the guy, but the Silksong cult is ridiculous. You guys suck.
The “DLC” is a few cosmetics, an artbook, and the soundtrack. WTF is wrong with you people? Don’t you have a long-awaited game to go get beat up in?
I don’t own silksong, nor have I played it. also haven’t played the 1st release they did.
I am however against day 1 DLC for in-game items. cosmetic or not. the files are 9/10 times already in the original game download and you’re just paying for ‘activation’. even if it isn’t…it clearly shows the direction they are gonna go. the ea way…20$ game, 1000$ dlcs

Uhhh… no? It’s at 88% positive reviews, Silksong is at 80%. No need to make up fake numbers?
In general: those numbers can change over time. Especially right after the release.
But in this case I was wrong, though not on purpose, as you implied.
According to the rest: it’s not Team Cherry’s DC who’s complaining, but the other way round. That the game lacks creativity and variety in terms of gameplay and enemies was the gist of the negative reviews I read (and misunderstandings regarding the genre). Nothing made up as well. Trying to blame the unexpected release of along awaited title for the bad start of their own game is just stupid, no need to come up with anything else.
Gonna be honest, any time I see a sentiment like this, it always screams of somebody going “I’m not happy and I want a scapegoat to blame.”
I don’t care for Silksong—like, I’m not even gonna pick it up on sale, it’s not for me.
I’m constantly on the lookout for 3rd-person action/action RPGs though, and nothing about Hell Is Us compels me to even consider picking it up on release. It totally looks like a wait for a deep, deep sale for me: ~$5.

Shape of Dreams didn’t have any trouble, apparently.
