I can confirm: I grew up playing Ninja Gaiden and now I have a lot of i-frames whenever I jump forward. It’s wild, I know.
There was a shootout in my neighborhood the other day and I jumped through it, didn’t care.

“Making games with AI” sounds like hell… like this is what hell must be.
Sitting there prompting AI, getting shitty ass results, prompting it again and again until you eventually settle for slightly less shitty results. The frustration and the loss of agency… oh God, someone should make a psychological horror about this: a frustrated artist forced to ditch their skills and tools and use AI to bring their unique vision to life, and throughout the film you watch them descend deeper and deeper into madness and depression until they burn down a data center and laugh manically as it disintegrates around them.

I think it could be useful in edge cases and the user needs to be skilled at whatever they’re using it for.
Reality is it is predominantly used by rich assholes to cut corners and get around hiring and paying workers.

From Software could kill the entire soulslike genre with one lawsuit. Like, just pick the biggest non-From Software soulslike and sue the publisher.

I feel like this shit is cyclical. Like, we’ve been here before and we’ll be here again.
The question is: are we ever going to evolve past this nonsense before we go extinct. Historically speaking, the answer has always been “probably not”
We’re just getting closer and closer to the end so it’s more frightening now, I feel.

Deal with the devil and for what? I can’t imagine that many football geeks interested in international football.

Fuck, I don’t like most video games so I can throw a rock and hit one, but I’m gonna go with the genres I like just to make it interesting.
Fighting games: Mortal Kombat—I’m sorry, I like the hyper violence as much as the next guy, but the gameplay doesn’t do it for me at all. Entertaining to watch, but it stops there for me.
Action games: Suda51 overall. Like, play No More Heroes but steer clear of the rest. It’s mediocre combat wrapped in nonstop nonsense.
Shmups: ZeroRanger. I can’t stand that game.

Can we not use “roguelite” and “arcade” in the same sentence? Roguelite is the anti-arcade.
Arcade games don’t reward you with permanent power ups for losing runs, that’s just modern gaming nonsense, which you can enjoy, just get your terminology right and don’t mislead people.
Beat’em up != arcade.

Not what you initially said.
Excuse me for not knowing I was gonna be dealing with you in the comments. Seems like everyone else understood what I meant.
The implication was that being eye candy at all was in itself an accusation it needed defending from, which is where I extrapolated the rest.
Good if that wasn’t what you meant, but this is an extremely common talking point so I don’t think me coming to that conclusion was unwarranted from the context.
IDK, it’s pretty obvious I’m a fan of the game… I literally say “I love this game so much” in my comment. Your coming to conclusion that I have any problem with Bayonetta’s sexualization is pretty bizarre in that context. Kinda feels like you zoomed in on one part that didn’t make sense to you and ignored the rest of my comment instead of rechecking your understanding.
You even went as far as bringing your personal vendetta against “American puritanical horseshit” into it for some reason? Even though the game is Japanese and you have no clue what my nationality is. Just odd all around, TBH.

Why? What’s wrong with the game being unashamedly eye candy?
People who don’t play the game often accuse Bayonetta of being nothing but eyecandy, as if her sexuality is superfluous and has nothing to do with her being badass.
ISTG I hate this entirely american puritanical “can’t have fun sexy things” horseshit.
I don’t really know what this has got to do with anything I said.
Also this implication that being a badass somehow overrides being hot?
I didn’t imply this.
Being incredible at something so effortlessly that you still look stunning while doing it is a force multiplier, not a contradiction.
I never said it is.

Not even joking but the second I read the name the theme kicked in in my head: Bayonetta, you mystery 🎵
I love this game so much and I’ll always defend it against all the eye candy accusations. I wholeheartedly believe if you spend any time trying to play this game the way it was meant to be played (guided by the manual and official guide) you’ll never be able to see Bayonetta other than one of the most badass action game protagonists of all-time.

They have done it over and over again. This is not Israel’s first attempt at wiping out an entire Pestinian city yet most people acted as if it is and stayed silent for literal years.
They have enough money and friends in high places to recover from this, unfortunately, and they’ll keep doing it until Palestine is no more.
And they won’t stop there either. We’re talking about a country that repeatedly invaded all of its neighbors. They won’t stop there.

Damn, that’s unfortunate. I’m glad Steam is cooperating though—a lot of platforms would try and bury this.
I hope this ends up being a blessing in disguise for them. Heart-wrenching to lose 10 years to a project and see little return because of a bug you’re not even responsible for.

Whoever uses AI to crank out shit games is already cranking out shit games anyway. Only way to fight back now or in the future is to stop paying for shit games.

it’s a trash game. don’t even care to look further. any dev that does this, isn’t worth a pinch of racoon shit.
Jesus Christ. I’m not even siding with the guy, but the Silksong cult is ridiculous. You guys suck.
The “DLC” is a few cosmetics, an artbook, and the soundtrack. WTF is wrong with you people? Don’t you have a long-awaited game to go get beat up in?

(80% pos reviews)
Uhhh… no? It’s at 88% positive reviews, Silksong is at 80%. No need to make up fake numbers?

I don’t care for Silksong—like, I’m not even gonna pick it up on sale, it’s not for me.
I’m constantly on the lookout for 3rd-person action/action RPGs though, and nothing about Hell Is Us compels me to even consider picking it up on release. It totally looks like a wait for a deep, deep sale for me: ~$5.

Conan did a Clueless Gamer playing it and the game crashed halfway through 😂 Not even making it up, it’s on YT.

TIL broken is a premium feature 😂
What do you play?
I ask because the games you play may not run well on the Steam deck, and if you don’t play enough on Steam, you may not want a deck to begin with.
If you’re mainly a console gamer and have an OK PC, you may wanna redeem the card and pick up a game or two that work on your PC.
It should also be noted the Winter sale is in approximately two weeks, so whatever you decide to do, I’d suggest holding onto the $20 until then.
