Doesn’t stop my furry little jackasses from trying to climb into it every time the door is open.

He’s on it already! His kill count is 2 so far this fall. I know they are his kills because he brings them to me and sets them on my desk. And a third claimed by his side kick who leaves them in the middle if the floor.

There is another one hiding under the freezer and they are actively hunting the last couple of days.

Her name is Valentina ans she is a good baby girl who demands pets from me at any chance she gets while she is awake

      This her brother Blaze.

Their mom was found on the streets, and a friend of a friend fostered them as kittens. So we adopted them both from the shelter.

Mom went somewhere else. I believe she was abandoned because she was quite social.

An internet search would have told you that cats aren’t dishwasher safe.

No the cat is not my wife

I don’t think anyone was under the impression you married a cat. I hope nobody thought that.

Yea, typically aluminum pans will have their finish degraded by dishwasher detergents and the time they’re exposed.

I have some cookie and baking trays like this. They still work fine, just don’t look good.

Rinse aid is an acid. And most fancy dish pods will have an acid portion as well. I actually use straight citric acid as a cheap home made rinse aid.

Idk how long you’ve been doing it at this point but just FYI, citric acid will eat right through painted-on designs, even kiln-fired paints like for pint glasses and stuff.

If you have stuff you want to keep nice, like brewery pint glasses or whatever, immediately stip putting them in with citric acid. Run those seperately or wash by hand. It might already be too late if the top layer has been etched into, but maybe not.

I learned the hard way :(

Even my $100/stem wine glasses go in the dishwasher. Still fine after 18 years. But, our dishwasher has a “wine glasses” setting, and is “recommended” by Riedel. Maybe doesn’t use the rinse aid, or very little, on that setting. Most commercial rinse aids are just mainly citric acid.

Most stuff is fine, its just paint. Like printed-on stuff. Idk what your wine glasses look like, or how whatever design they have was put on, but the paint used on stuff like pint glasses and travel mugs and the like gets eaten away by citric acid in a way that rinse aid never did. Possibly because the rinse aid acid is diluted with alcohol. Idk.

I use citric acid for hard water, so it’s possible you use less, was just offering a warning in case you care about your stuff like I do.

Ah, got it. Thanks for the heads up. It’s trial by fire at our house. If it can’t survive the dishwasher……

They do look like aluminum, but I’ve also had steel do that in the dishwasher.

Not stainless but I stopped using dishwasher tablets when they pitted some stainless

Are these aluminum? If so your other silverware and metal stuff in the same wash is provably sparkling. Its an old way of cleaning tarnished items like pennies or jewelry, you’d boil them on the stove with a loosly bunched up sheet of aluminum foil and add baking soda to the water. It transfers the removed compounds to the foil

I would like to know the thoughts from the cat as well, I mean you and your wife had a say in these pans, why is the cat not consulted, or if they were why was their opinion discounted and not lodged on the internet as well.

I don’t think aluminum is good in the dishwasher in general. I’ve got some small aluminum pans I use in the toaster oven (since it works better than the shit developers/landlord special oven range that came with the place), and I put a couple of them through the diahwasher once and their finish is no longer as polished as it used to be.

What does it say about the 'verse that the cat comment was necessary?
