Walmart just tracks you on their cameras until they have you stealing more than $1000 of stuff, or whatever will support a felony charge. Then they dump all of that video tape on the cops all at once. The cops usually go along with this because they get felony arrests all neatly packaged up with a bow.
The frontline employees don’t have to do anything.
Yeah, 20 years ago you could get away with this, not anymore, those cameras are high def with facial recognition and networked all over the country now.
I remember being so bummed out 20 years ago when I lived in Louisiana and was pulling up a Walmart and all the power went out in that part of the city. When I say “pulling up” I was able to see it and I was about to pull off the freeway exit.
I was bummed because I figured if I had been inside when it happened I could have just grabbed what I needed and left.
The original was Walmart. No intended ill will to local/small businesses.
