I’d convince myself that every scrap in that box had potential and keep it around next to my bench for six years before throwing it out.

There is absolutely still meat on those bones for people who make small stuff. I would at least see if I could donate to a makerspace or something.

I try to whenever possible. We make 2-3 boxes a week plus whatever we make at the sawmill.

Waste management could be a fulltime job that our small team doesn’t have the bandwidth to handle.

I do what I can, but some times you just need to make space

True, but there’s a difference in toxicity between wood and plastic. And the glue used for multiplex is more towards plastic than wood when it comes to how harmful it is. But there’s also wood which is harmful. Like figs trees, they are also very toxic when burned. Just be careful with what you burn. A regular campfire or stove fire with stuff like birch or other common woods isn’t that bad unless you’re highly sensitive, like astma, but stuff like plastic, glue, or other chemicals should not be burned and it’s fumes definitely not inhalated.

          I appreciate the concern.

The only plywood in the pile is the stand itself. Everything else is spruce, mahogany, redwood, and rosewood.

What you’re probably seeing is quartering.

Admittedly, there is a single scrap hanging out in the background that broke off, but that’s not getting burned. I’m just too lazy to throw it out

Oh lol! I didn’t zoom in. I assumed they were multiplex as they were so thin, and this looks exactly like the scap box of multiplex next to my laser cutter. I didn’t see they were just thin sheets of just pure wood. My bad mate! Burn away!
