Question about gagh. Is it seasoned? Or sauced? Or is it just plain serpent worms? Because that doesn’t seem like much of a delicacy. Sounds pretty low effort, actually.

The Ferengi prefer tube grubs live when they eat them. So they slither when they’re swallowed.

Perhaps with fresh gagh, there is a pheromone or some other secretion that is only produced when it’s still alive, and when it’s dies it’s stops being produced or goes sour. After that, uncooked, it starts to decay like most other foods

Much of the Klingon diet is raw and rustic proteins. There’s some dishes that involve more prep, though.

        Time for pet peeve venting.

In The Klingon Dictionary written by Marc Okrand and published around the release of The Search for Spock, the word is “ghargh” and is defined as “serpent, worm” meaning it’s a generic term used to refer to worm-like things.

In “A Matter of Honor” Riker calls it" Serpent-worm", making it into a proper noun. More the fault of Burton Armus who wrote the script than Johnathan Frakes, but annoying either way.

        Venting complete.

Please be sure to close the plasma vents when you’re done. Don’t want them clogged up with any space jizz.

There are 50 varieties and they feed on blood. The blood itself is what gives them flavor. Different blood is used in different varieties.
