    I avoid all that stuff.

    • 1 cup distilled white vinegar (5% acidity)

    • 1 cup water

    • 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap

    • 1 standard spray bottle

Works really well to remove soap residue. dries clean on surfaces. Simple and safe.

I’m a big fan of the Zep Citrus Degreaser. I buy it 5 gal at a time for an industrial degreaser at work and pinch a little off to take home. Works awesome, appliance/countertop safe, and goes a long ways around the house.

Big sucker for a simple diluted castile soap for most cleaning, but love to see what others are up to!

I love Bronner soap after finding out that it didn’t make my skin itchy while using the bar soap as a shower item. Then I started using the liquid form for all the soap dispensers in the house. It’s really that good (to me)!

As someone with dry skin, Bronner’s (and castile-based soaps generally) are too good at their job. They leave my skin devoid of oil, and therefore dry and cracking. They are, however, great for cleaning just about everything else.

I understand what you mean! I think that is the reason I like it so much. I don’t like my hands feeling greasy/oily/whatever residue is left over from other “normal” soap brands and/or lotion, and this gets rid of that feeling no matter if I just ate the greasiest burger or just got done putting lotion on.

I’ve never really had that problem of “leaving fingerprints” on any of my devices, and I feel like it also alleviates that tearing down of materials thanks to the oil on our skin. So for me, it is a win-win.

If it is okay to ask, what do you use for your case in this instance? :-]

EDIT: I do have dry hands, but I think that is more so due to me washing my hands religiously because of not liking my hands feeling any way other than clean. :-P

Oh wow I just tried out Zep floor cleaner about a month ago and like it a lot as well. My only complaint would be it says lemon scent, and while cleaning its got some scent, but once it dries its basically scentless. Im guessing lots of people love that, for me I really enjoy the fake smell of “clean”.

Tell me about it; buddy. I’ve been looking for a new general purpose cleaner to put in a foaming spray bottle I got. Does it degrease shit too? Is it food safe?

Those foaming spray bottles are tricky. I’ve found adding a bit of alcohol to the mix makes more soaps compatible.

Yeah? I haven’t actually gotten the chutzpah to use it yet, I just kept seeing videos of people using them to clean bathrooms and it looked so much easier.

Main difference is the visual impact of thick white foam everywhere, secondary would be using less cause it looks like there’s more out. They’re a little silly imo

It’s not duper heavy duty keep a separate degreaser around for tasks like cleaning the range top. We clean the kitchen counters every night so it’s good having a medium strength, from-concentrate product.

Damn, man, I wish I could get my roommates to help clean down counters every night. Thanks for the recommendation and congrats on finding something that works well.

That just has the look of an effective surface cleaner about it. I use the Public Goods surface cleaner because the concentrate requires less to ship and is easier to store, but it just doesn’t have the weight of authority you want from a good cleaner.
