Okay, but the kind of “extremely difficult thing” you could do to remove invasive bamboo is to pave over the affected area and build a data center.

You can still do this with a library card.
You have the advantage of me, unfortunately
It was bound to happen sooner or later. Don’t judge me too harshly.
I won’t be joining this one, but I wish you good luck — this one seems like it’s gonna be a lot of work to moderate. Hope you manage to create a good space that advances positive ideas.

I use this one and quite like it. It looks cute on the counter and boils plenty quickly.
You can use the calories to do anything, even make more babies!

Paywalls are easy; avoiding surveillance would be extremely difficult.

Sometimes I wonder if we should have a “learn to read” community where we post an article or short stories or excerpts of longer works with some comprehension questions and discuss in the comments. Where discussing what you think about a headline or article is forbidden and only discussion about what it actually says is allowed.

Oh no, sorry, I didn’t mean to claim credit. I meant you and I are posting here on fedi so we should promote their fedi account. I edited my comment to clarify; thanks!

Tromboner got more usage in my jr high/high school/college marching band, but trombinist was more common in my orchestra and jazz ensembles. Do with that information what you will.
edit: Also! We’re in the fediverse, so you gotta link to their fedi account: @rikergoogling@mas.to

Everywhere I go, I see her face:

The lawnmower fixed itself out of respect for the way you handled the disassembly and reassembly process.

Photon torpedoes are munitions? I assumed they didn’t have to be restocked or stored, but were generated on the fly, like a laser cannon.

I mod and post to a few communities where getting one upvote is huge, and it’s fine, actually? Super niche communities don’t hurt anyone? And if you run them long enough, people start to show up eventually.

This is, of course, a reference to the famous “Haircut Lapinski,” the great granddaughter of Tara Lipinski, who got their name after attempting to give herself bangs with an ice skate blade after a particularly devastating breakup. She was notorious for being jumpy when she was called to “land on a fraction,” or landing an ice skating jump that was not a full number of rotations, since it required a change of direction and a fair amount of ankle strength, which she never quite learned to trust again after a horrific malleolar fracture.
(this is all bs and I made it all up so please don’t critique my lack of ice skating knowledge too harshly)

I definitely opened this thread with the expectation that there’d be an unhinged horny comment from you about all this, but it’s just… informative historical facts? With interesting and relevant commentary? It’s good reading but I just… I’m just not sure I’m ready for serious violet08.
Sure. What words am I allowed to use when relating this anecdote in the future without being called a nazi? A simple blocklist and allowlist is the easiest format for me.
By “Germans” I mean “the early Germanic peoples who occupied the region that became Germany” and “Russians” I mean “the early Slavic peoples who occupied the region that became Ukraine”. I kinda just assumed folks would understand the modern federal German state didn’t exist when early Slavs first encountered other ethnic groups and could work backwards from there.
I fear this “dull men’s club” branding is going to do to the word “dull” something very similar to what the “liminal spaces” branding did to the word “liminal” or what meme communities did to the word “meme.” Your boardwalk is awesome.
