If you mean that’s where they got the name/premise for the show lower Decks from the titular TNG episode, they’re pretty open about that.
I WAS a little disappointed they didn’t have anyone except Sito referenced during the show. They could have shown all the lower deckers from the tng episode at one point or another, they had 5 seasons and brought back a ton of other people.
Star Trek always focuses on the main bridge crew. This episode highlights how there are hundreds of other crew members on duty, and some have some interesting things going on. They should make a full show just following a bunch of the lower level crew members through their day. Call it “Lower Decks” or something as an homage to this episode.
I’d watch the shit out of a series like that
