If it uses internal storage as swap, thats ofc way quicker. but u know what quicker ? real lpddr ram. if its 24 gig lpddr ram then i am all in :)

24gig ? thats probably with swap enabled (like all chinese phones, false advertizing). any rooted phone with enabled swap could help extend the ram this much too. heck there s a paid app that could enables limitless swap using any class 10 sd card. also 120w would only make since if it would charge a 10k mAh battery or something.

Infinix Note 30 has an option where when plugging the charger and using the phone at the same time electricity would be used to feed the phone directly, instead of charging the battery (since charging the battery (33w fast charge) while using the phone causes it to heat and lose from its life) thus it stays cool during simultaneous usage and charging: now one could do work on a plugged phone without the risk of ruining the battery

sync barely sends me notifications when there are ones. also i have to go through hoops to reach saved posts or comments. idk the menu isn’t all that intuitive. Back in the day, there weren’t only sync as a 3p client, so give other people some chance to prove themselves.

taxpayer money is free, no there’s no loss to begin with

i had a tab s2 with 28nm soc, 3gig lpddr3 ram running android 7 and the app quickly crashes, now i use an infinix (random asian brand, but way better than the rest) with a 12nm soc 4 gig of ram (4 doesnt seem enough) and 10w slow charging, the next phone i consider buying would run android 13 with 16 gig of ram (swap included, well, unlocked at least), also includes 33w fast charging and a 6nm soc, kinda finding myself reasons to upgrade, but as u said i am waiting this out too: i wanted to run the app on my pc but also i would have to upgrade my laptop ram so my os could support the android emulator without hiccups. i considered running my own instance for this sake but kinda extreme…lemmy is addictive not gonna lie

I use Connect: i filter alot of undesired coms and instances so i could browse only interesting stuff. I filter alot that i get a runtime error, due to server overwhelmed with requests. Connect Dev said that the app will be optimized in a way that u could browse infinitly without compromising said filters or encountring such error. I feel my only bottleneck now is android ram, since browsing down the feed causes the phone to become sluggish and cause other background run apps to crash: probably considering getting a phone with extra ram (8gig with swap enabled? )

xender: am i a joke to u ?

Just be careful what partitions you remove/format, but I guess that’s obvious.
i am learning the hard way :/

its a 3in1 30$ wifi inkjet canon: as long as kept from dust and humidity especially, the thing is a beast: printed almost 20k pages with one before it broke. cartridge infinitely refillable and a 1L ink bottle lasts to infinity and cost 10$.

Disagree
tbh i wish it weren’t my opinion too. but since the occasion presented itself, op is struggling with setting up a software for his needs on linux: i wish there were viable options for his case.
It really isn’t.
maybe i am simple minded, but why do i have to install gparted just so i could partition my disk (in windows disk partition is a given), or have to install fuse so i could run .appimage files; why don’t these functions come preinstalled ? maybe i am now starting to understand why is linux invunerable to viruses: u kinda have to sudo ur way through everything so u could u achieve ur need. maybe i am venting, but as a newcomer from windows, its kinda overwhelming haha: wanna copy to a readonly directroy: sudo cp; edit a readonly file: sudo gedit…even the terminal isnt in favourites, i have to ctrl alt T so i could find it 😭😭 again, i am no dev, and i kinda have a day to spend and work to get to xd

yea man, there is way more printer features on windows than on linux, since manufacturers decided so. i am not tech savy and i fear i might have to troubleshoot my way through a vm just to print a pdf. guess i ll have to run a separate machine just for my windows needs, but great idea nonetheless.

i wanted to print in duplex mode: the printer linux driver didnt support it (i thought it was a pdf reader thing, apparently its a driver thing). also wanted to have a logical partition as expansion, ended up corrupting the boot file. using linux is backbreaking (in the sense of not that straight forward), but kinda useful to run in a machine on the side. linux really have some cool apps, but proprietery software doen’t seem to get along with it well. best way to approach this is to run both OS’s, according to ur needs.
if ‘expensive’ is ur problem, why not raise the black flag and check divisionsbyzero: someone could guide u to a useful tracker or something to download a cracked version, if it exists, say for Rhino3D. there are so many alternative when doing a search:. idk maybe also try to settle for a software that can really be easy and accessible to ur father, and then look up the cracked version for it.
u can find help here, i guess:
