  • I’ll just spitball because I do not have these problems, although I do have quite some experience with Steam thinkering and troubleshooting. Don’t take my answers as actual solutions.

Controller inputs break constantly. If I use big picture mode, the games will be in some quasi state where it both detects my controller and doesn’t.

When you are not using an Xbox or Playstation controller, and Steam is configured for it, Steam will emulate it using a secondary spoofed input device. This might be your problem. Compare your input devices with Steam closed and opened. Look under the controller settings and thinker with Steam Input for generic controller.

The right click menu in the system tray does not work 30% of the time.

It always works for me on Gnome. I guess this might be a desktop environment problem and not a Steam one. What DE are you using?

Worst of all, when I close a game, steam will not detect that it closes.

I’ve had this kind of problem when making a Flatpak Qt app that launches another program. I had to specifically spawn the process with flatpak-spawn to not run into flatpak issues. You say that you also have this problem on a native install, but maybe you didn’t really start the native install or you are mistaken? I’ve mistakenly troubleshooted what I thought to be a native process but I was trying the flatpak I also had installed.

In game, the shift+tab menu does not work; half the buttons are unresponsive and the game will crash upon closing shift+tab

I think this problem is because of the same reason as the previous problem. It might not be spawning processes correctly so it borks the hook. Or maybe you are using some very strict memory protection.

  • It looks like they merged the original picture with a companion cube image.

Some suspicious things are the openings for the USB ports which are way too narrow to plug anything into, the extremely fast timeframe in which this image was produced, the angle of the box which matches 100% with the original picture, and there only being 1 low quality picture of it. Almost all of this points towards an AI image merge, which also explains why the openings, edges, button and shadows would be close to perfect.

Keep in mind that I’m not saying they will not produce this. But let’s also not let our love for this thing cloud objective reasoning.

Imo they should be funded by public budgets the way libraries, school buses, roads etc are.

They are, and many low traffic toilets are completely free.

However, in high traffic areas, some arguments they tend to give against this:

    • Asking for a small amount of money deters a vandalism because people would only go in there to use the toilet. Not many people would pay to go and trash the place or put some tags in there.
    • It’s an easy way to get extra money for maintenance
    • In case of drug users it could help because some of them might already spend all their money on the drugs themselves thus making the small cost bothersome. (Although strong blue lights are a better deterrent because they hide your veins)

A lot of toilets in Europe in low traffic areas tend to be free. There’s also quite some open air urinals in heavy traffic areas that are free but they smell horrible.

There’s also some European countries that allow/tolerate public urination but limit it to non-privately owned natural bushes and require you to do it decently. (Not showing any genitals)

If you gotta pee and you don’t have any Euros on you, what else are you supposed to fucking do?? Literally what are your options at that point?

In places where they ask for money you can often plead your case and can enter without paying. Many places also ask for money without actually having somebody present or blocking your entry if you do not. I’ve seen a lot of little plates with cash just laying there without anybody being present.
