.ru is not government domain, it’s just the normal russian domain… Literally every country except for america uses the country code top level domain for everyday use.

The current way of naming GNOME apps is to take a random word associated with the thing the app does. E.g. the sound player is called Decibels.
So it would be “Club” or something equally boring :P.
