Because they aren’t arguing to persuade the other party but to persuade the readers/listeners that won’t bother to research if its actually true.

I’ve encountered the same, I paid for a few sessions since one of my buddies was trying to get up and started with a local group that charges to play at some bars around our town but after a few months stopped going because the guy in charge of the whole thing seemed sketchy and seemed to be more about trying to develop a cult of personality.
I’m definitely more on the side of not wanting to charge for my dming, but i can get why some would considering the effort that some can put into it.
The fact that even one of his constituents still approves of his administration is insane to me.

15·3 months agoI credit SRE with starting my hiking hobby. Never liked being in nature until I was forced to sit in front of a computer screen for 40-60 hours a week and some weekends.
Now I’ve been to a dozen national parks, about as much state parks and one of the few joys I get is planning the next outing.

5·4 months agoMaybe but fyi, governor Hot wheels is a pretty regular term for texas democrats to call him, so not really a completely out of left field thing to hear.
The AI thing is cringe worthy though

Politics@beehaw.org•James Talarico declares victory in Texas Democratic Senate primary as GOP contest goes to a runoff
8·4 months agoYupp, I think thats why a lot of democrats voted for him in the primary. We know we’ll have to contend with the general population in November which skews more racist and sexist. Very unfortunate because I really liked Crockett as a candidate.
I’d imagine it depends a lot on the festival. I’ve never been to anime festivals but several comic & boardgame conventions, if you know people going to hang out with, or you otherwise like massive social situations it can be some great fun. If you don’t and don’t like crowds it can be a bit daunting and feel like you’re basically paying entry to walk through vendors and buy stuff.

My asshole of a neighbor planted a line of bamboo right on our fence line, so now once a week I have to go to my side yard and dig up roots or they’ll choke out my ac unit within months.
