Am biologist, can confirm.
Best I saw so far were muddy rubber boots and muddy cargo pants.
Neurobiology is more like #2 and #3 and stand out among ecologist.

11·3 months agoI don’t want to start a war here, but R has solved that already much better with the entire ggplot2 ecosystem.
ML applications are much better supported in Python, but for anything statistics related I would rather use R.

11·1 year agoMy Pixel is taking short video snippets from which you can then choose the best frame, and so far no other app than GP is able to handle those (as far as I know at least).
Can Immich work with those?

Edit: 400$ for the Glove 80. As much as I love the idea, that’s a no for me
They are pretty metal. They kill their prey by literally crushing the skull.
I’ve seen them hunt and once they get a hold of the prey, the struggle is over in seconds.
Successful use: DeepLabCut.
Unsuccessful use: Keypoint-MoSeq
I really like the TENK (Finnish National Board on Research Integrity) template. That got me a grant, my current job, and I’m currently negotiating my next job.





Depending on field, double-blind reviews are rare. In ecology I had maybe one or two reviews in 5 years that were double-blinded, normally you see the author list as a reviewer
