Yep. Ugly, disjointed in appearance, etc. I set up Debian KDE for a family member moving from windows so it fits. I was impressed that KDE came far from what it was but it very much is like a bucket of bolts to me.

Gnome in contrast is very put together. Yes, has some quirks but appearance wise is very curated IMO.

Just donated some money to them. Haven’t even tested a build yet but I’m excited based on what I’ve seen over the years.

• android apps available otherwise via aurora
• interface is more spartan but nice to use compared to android
• accessibility features lacking
• if you’re used to custom Roms you’ll probably be fine but out of your depth if not

The project is reorganizing and changing security keys due to the head and lead Dev leaving. They plan to publish new images in the coming months AFAIK. A reinstall will be needed at that point.

And with that, how long until there are no unlockable bootloaders? Then a fork wouldn’t matter at all and using a Linux phone with lineage likely wouldn’t even work due to lack of device drivers for android.

In the meantime anyway. The only real way forward is Linux phones and thankfully theyre a lot better these days.

The only hangup when I looked (many months ago) were issues with MMS. That said, the devs apparently were working with someone on resolving that from what I saw on their telegram channel.

Im old. I play easy. I just have little time with work, family, etc. To spend yet more time gaming. I enjoy the story and get to experience it quicker than I otherwise would.
