I’m hopeful that the non-ultra version will be compact… But what else will they remove to make it not so ultra?

5·2 years agoI use Google Fi as well but I’ve questioned the purpose of carrier bonding/switching since T-Mobile and Sprint merged. As far as I know US cellular is the only other network that Fi uses. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Neat visuals but I don’t think this is in any way accurate… Tell me how I crossed all those lightyears in about 60 seconds while only traveling at around 95% the speed of light.
Stop downloading all those free-to-play-pay-to-win games. Basically any app that is advertised for but free to use is going to maximize the amount of data they harvest and the number of “notifications”(ads) they send you.

31·2 years agoI get that this is a big deal but why do the headlines need to fluff it up to make it seem like there is a human out there? When do we ever say that our rovers on Mars are going for a Mars walk or stepping off their landing platform? If it’s wheels they are rolling or going for a drive! It’s no wonder that trust in news media is declining when there are editors who think this kind of bullshit can fly in a science headline.

7·2 years agoHow would you propose connecting to a mesh network without the use of an ISP? Are you thinking wireless (wifi)? For something like that to work you would need an AP/repeater every 150 feet or so. How would you cross oceans without bouncing wireless signals off the ionosphere (creating latency issues) or using a cable (requiring some entity to maintain it - $$$)?
If you break it down into the requirements to do such a thing you can start to understand why your question is a bit ridiculous.
