Venus has CO2 air at 50km at same pressure as earth and has good protection from radiation. You could make tons of blimps, heat them up with solar energy to float make a small science colony.
Downside is that it’s very weight limited because landing on a surface full of sulfuric acid is hard. The challenges are still there and Venus has it’s challenges but you could have people running around with oxygen tanks instead of space suits.

If you have 48GB you don’t need a swapfile. To min-max you could lower the “swappiness” so it uses swapfiles way less. It’s just bonus memory that lives on the SSD. Swap files and swap partitions behave the same unless you run out of SSD space.
Linux system has better architecture than Windows so your system is safe unless you install a virus (of which there are way fewer).
Where you install programs? Just use the app store or terminal, the location doesn’t matter.
The “hardening” is interesting though, you can go really far into security if you want. If things are installed in user-space it can’t fuck with your computer on a fundamental level so it’s preferred. You don’t have to worry about it though unless your installing some niche programs from someone you know nothing about.

Sure, the study would be best if we did a randomised double blind study on a sample of 100 people that all are going to get a tattoo anyway but that doesn’t make the mouse study irrelevant.
Mice and humans, although very different in appearance have biomechanics that are very similar. For every human study you could make a 20 mouse studies with the same funding so you could do a lot more exploration.
This study found something, notably that ink in the blood affected the immune system. This just means that future studies are needed like injecting people with tattoo ink and blood samples diagnosis after tattoo to see how much ink is in the blood. If confirmed this will push tattoo ink manufacturers to develop a new ink that eliminates the effect and we can all enjoy safer more effective tattooing.
This study is not flawed, it’s pushing human knowledge forward like it always does.

It’s true that the ears receive stereo input, but brain postprocesses it to make surround sound. It uses the time difference from sound hitting your right and left ear to do some black magic and figure out at which angle the sound is coming from.
Another interesting part on this is that the brain is pretty bad at detecting whether a sound is coming from the front or back of the head so it uses visual cues and combines it with the processed sound to make it seem like it’s coming from either the front or the back.
That’s the neat part, the brain does that using some black magic. You just have to add all the sounds individual waves together and the brain deciphers it.
It’s pretty simple actually. Mine runs the program as it would normally and whenever the program reaches out to say “create this file” or “load this font” for example Wine will grab that call and translate it into a Linux OS command. As long as the program gets all their Windows API calls and windows specific files requests satisfied it will happily continue.
This is why ARM support is such a hassle for wine since the processor is with a different architecture so the compiled binary needs to be translated as well with all the nuances.
If you’re willing to spend some money on cheating there’s no way to prevent people from just aimbotting based on video output and feeding it as USB mouse commands. These anti-cheat systems are just shit solutions compared to server-side culling, superhuman reflex detection and report/review systems with premium servers and bans. Just give people in-game currency for correctly agreeing with the consensus and some people will go nuts on it for less than $1 per hour of in-game items.
Anti-cheat systems basically fuck with the kernel so if a game has it there’s a case for not playing it.
