People are so obtuse…

People are so obtuse…

Good! That’s exactly how you should react to that request. BYOD is only okay if the company is subsidizing your monthly bill, even then it’s a grey area to me.

Private devices in general. I’ve seen people logged into their social media on company laptops as if the incognito window matters lol.

Yup! Just cuz your employer isn’t physically there looking over your shoulder while using the device doesn’t mean they are oblivious to what you are doing on it.

Because they don’t care. They are just saying this for the liability.

I don’t think the toilet you shit in is going to be the main source of geographical data about you… Analyzing dookie with the intent of tracking pathogens and preventing future pandemics outweighs the risk of my poop being traced back to my butthole, imo.
So I guess the only viable alternative would be to build septic tank to fight such surveillance like we currently do with selfhosting to protect our data.
Selfhosted sewage is a very funny way to think about septic tanks. It’s not terribly off base, but the correlation made me chuckle.

I appreciate the optimism…
what does gravity even bench?

Realistically I think your options are to ignore/block, or confront them against your better judgement. Which, as you know will likely constitute going circles for hours before having to bow out because your brain is coming out of your ears. The problem with both these options is that they likely have the same outcome. However, the latter will also leave them resenting you and the rest of the “online leftists” even more than they already do. In fact, it will probably embolden them in their pursuit of radical centrism just to own the “tankies”.
That’s just my experience and observations tho…

“White House considers building more border camps…”

Then die already.

Exactly, however my legal name is actually No Gregory Thanks Jr.

Cept I won’t be surprised when the mouse uses my shitposts to prove I’m a cynical piece of shit lol.

I’m so sick of social media users doing a surprised pikachu when the data they willingly give to the surveillance state is then used by the surveillance state.
DELETE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA, NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOUR POSTS ANYWAY.
My company has its own internal system that leverages GPT models. So yeah it’s definitely becoming prevalent. My boss specifically is always toting it as some amazing tool, all the other business wankers think it’s great, my direct colleagues have taken to letting it summarize their meeting notes and clean up their emails before sending.
All in all, it’s a grim situation. From the execs who think it will change the workforce for the better, down to the average workers who are losing their ability to proofread.
I’m beyond the point of airing my grievances and just find myself idly standing by hoping enough of them get owned by it somehow and become weary of it. I don’t think that’s gonna happen, but a guy can dream.
