I specifically miss my philosophical and spiritual communities from Reddit. I love learning about mythos and different religions, especially the more esoteric stuff, as well as political philosophy. That content just isn’t here in the same way (or sometimes, at all). It would be amazing to have that here.
If you speak german, that is what the community !philosophie@feddit.org is all about.
No, I think it makes sense.
Living organisms use ions internally (positive charges) because they produce something (like fruits).
Technology uses negative charges because it harvests those fruits, and takes them away (negative).

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is an achievement in life that you're proud of?
3·1 year agoThere’s things that I like about myself that I cannot put into words; it’s more a feeling.
make sure you hump that couch when you see it!

they said “wild fires”
just like wild horses, wild fires existed long before they were domesticated.
yesterday someone posted a closeup of moss on a street to show how fascinating it is. i can’t find it anymore, but it was cool. maybe somebody still has that picture?
Edit:

Honestly I think it’s most likely that you’re simply overworked. (many/most people are)
I think that being overworked, together with emotional instability/lack of security, are the most prevalent causes of mental illnesses in our society today. It’s no “chemical imbalance in your brain” story. Sure, there’s chemical imbalance, but where does that imbalance come from? I guess it’s mostly that our bodies aren’t built for today’s demands.
It is important that you love yourself. In fact, I think it’s important that you feel loved by someone, even if that somebody is yourself.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why are politicians doing nothing for first time home buyers?
52·1 year agoWhy are politicians doing nothing for first time home buyers?
Why aren’t universally some laws against home flipping and people owning more than one residential property? I think the right of having a roof over your head is a basic human right and every person out there deserves to have a decent home and not be forced to live on the street.
Because that would be socialism, obviously!

22·1 year agoYeah I guess there are some phenomenons that I haven’t considered. But are they really strong enough to stop the game?
I have already excluded that frame-dragging/emission of gravitational waves stops the game, because the emission of gravitational waves reduces the energy from the system, but the effect is stronger if objects are closer by. when the distance between them is larger, gravitational waves become negligible. hubble expansion, on the other hand, becomes stronger on larger scales. so at some point, it’s larger than the loss due to gravitational waves.
explain entropy though, where’s thermodynamics in the game?
Most people are not that creative.
One thing I learned: fuck dictionaries. Be creative. Invent words if you need them. As long as it’s understandable, that’s all fine.
it’s called “co-evolution”
Very interesting read.
I also like how, at the end, it changed perspective to say “actually, our problem is not software, but politics”.
We must be aware of what agents we encourage and discourage through our actions.

they lasted 3 years, which is about 12x longer than i would have guessed.
“si” (italian yes) too much:
If you say si too much, you become a sisi.
oh okay, maybe the grass was just a gift to you, who knows?

Wherever it comes from, sex must be pretty old. Am I correct in the assumption that all Eucaryotes do have the ability to have sex? (ofc with minor exceptions)
