I mean at least OP didn’t just post a link to the Reddit post. I’ve seen some of that lately and well, I ditched Reddit for a reason. I downvote anything that links to any non-federated social media.

This is true. Almost every streaming box sells your data out of the box. Roku is one of the worst. Nvidia Shield is pretty bad too.
I don’t remember where I originally read it but here is the first article I found: https://gizmodo.com/reddit-meta-and-google-voluntarily-gave-dhs-info-of-anti-ice-users-report-says-2000722279
Thanks. Too late for me but might help someone else.

Nah, you’re right. It did seem that way.
Yeah it’s impossible to really remove much of anything from the internet. They’re welcome to restore them. It took no effort on my part. I used a browser extension. When it was done, I deleted my account. Most of the comments were just answering Linux questions or commenting on music and guitar posts.
I don’t even click search results from Reddit. When they started turning over info on users who had negative things to say about ICE, they lost me for good.
I already deleted my 15 year old account, all of my posts, and all of my comments. Fuck Reddit and their shitty policies.
I must be out of the loop. What’s the issue with Proton?

Linux on a phone sucks too. Hopefully, it won’t one day but for it now, it does. To be fair, I’ve only used Ubuntu Touch and PocketBlue. Of those two, Pocket Blue was better, in my opinion. PostmarketOS looks promising but I don’t have a device that will run it well. Too many key features don’t work on my OnePlus 6t at the moment.
For now, AOSP with FDROID is where it’s at.

Why does this post feel like spam? I don’t personally trust Telegram (which is not fully open source) and chose Immich. It works cross platform and my whole family can use it. It’s self hosted so I don’t have to worry about whatever shenanigans someone is up to on some remote server.
The laws can be written to reference the approximate age. Antoine who will be 18 by December 31st of that year could be considered 18 for the purposes of the law.

Click all of the links and read thoroughly. My dumb ass scanned it and put my head in my hands.
I’m not an expert but I do not believe GPS transmits much data by itself. It would be what your service provider, apps, websites do with that GPS derived location data.
That is intentional. It provides a reasonable approximation of age while maintaining privacy. The big gaping hole someone pointed out to me is who gets to determine what is blocked? I don’t have a great answer for that. I imagine it would be the type of thing settled in courts. Personally, my biggest concerns are social media and access to AI. I think those two things are more harmful to the development of young minds and their mental wellbeing than anything NSFW.
You misunderstood or maybe I wasn’t clear. I had no issue with your post. It was a genuine TIL for me and I found it interesting. I saw the other comment and was just venting that I saw several posts today that linked directly to a Reddit post rather than the original source. Not a fan of that. But your post, solid. Thanks!
