Try plugging your monitor in a motherboard port instead of the GPU ports.

I’ve had issues on stock x11 PopOS using nvidia. Decent fps, but bigger drops and frametime consistency seemed horrible. I have to turn off my (mismatched) 2nd monitor for my proper refresh rate to work, but it still looked very microstuttery. I miss VRR, but I think there’s a bigger underlying issue than vsync/VRR not working. Haven’t tried Wayland yet.

17·3 years agoThis is by far the most jargon-dense article I’ve ever read. I may not understand any of it, but their excitement is contagious!



Back when I was messing with ROM hacking, I had wanted the ability to change the graphics without being constrained by the limitations of the SNES resolution and ROM size. My old dream of making a hand-drawn EarthBound without having to learn game development could become a possibility with this.
Also curious about the audio enhancement. Replacing all the samples and synths with uncompressed versions could destroy the original intended sound, but I wonder if the planned re-adding of effects can remedy that.
