Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Anyone have a recommendation for Anime like Kaiji the Ultimate Gambler or Deathnote?
2·11 months agoCame here to suggest Akagi, it might also help to play a little Mahjong Soul to understand riichi mahjong. It’s not essential, but rewatching Akagi after learning how to play was an enhanced experience.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Discord's native linux screensharing is now on the stable branch.
7·11 months agoScreen sharing is a big social thing for my friends and I, lacking this functionality would mean I wouldn’t be able to interact as much sharing goofy game moments and watching movies together.
I tried Vencord for a while, but my friends said that the quality of the stream on their end was consistently stuttering, an issue which isn’t happening for me in the official client, so the release of screen sharing on Discord stable after working so well on canary is a welcome update for me.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Intel won’t kill off its graphics card businessEnglish
6·11 months agoDo you have a link, I haven’t been able to find any articles specifically referencing battlemage bottlenecking on budget current-gen CPUs.
Edit: Nevermind, I found this: https://www.pcgamesn.com/intel/arc-b580-performance-issues
The article notes that this points to a driver issue, and given the driver improvements made by Intel on their previous Arc GPUs I would be surprised if this issue isn’t ironed out in future patches. It is a bit hyperbolic to say Battlemage is DOA based on driver issues alone,. especially so recently after launch. It also notes that games do run, but some games see 10-20% lower performance at the moment.
This issue is only from the last couple of days, until then the new streaming has been working great.
It was working great, but version 0.554 of discord canary has completely broken streaming for me as well, with discord completely crashing on trying to start a stream.
I’ll.check.it out, thanks for the recommendation!

Linux@lemmy.ml•Discord now properly supports screensharing on linux
54·1 year agoPretty much! Never saw anything that said the browser client worked on Linux, but last time I tried the discord browser client it was pretty rubbish as well.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Discord now properly supports screensharing on linux
19·1 year agoJust installed Canary on my system to test this, and while it’s a little janky and the hardware acceleration seems to stop other apps using the GPU at the same time this is still good enough I think I can finally move to Linux as my main OS. I assume this will get polished further in the future. Great stuff though.

321·1 year agoGoogle also can’t:
Share app revenue “with any person or entity that distributes Android apps” or plans to launch an app store or app platform
Offer developers money or perks to launch their apps on the Play Store exclusively or first
Offer developers money or perks not to launch their apps on rival stores
Ok, now do Epic and their paid exclusive practices.

Games@sh.itjust.works•EverQuest provided so much pain but I still love itEnglish
3·1 year agoFor me personally, Velious was the last expansion that still felt like “classic” EverQuest. Luclin introduced some pretty significant changes such as The Nexus and The Bazaar, that for me really impacted how the game world felt. If Quarm is just up to Kunark then it would definitely be worth playing there as well.
