I just never got the appeal before, knowing what I knew. And I never cared to acquire more knowledge about Bluesky because I was perfectly happy with Kbin and Mastodon etc…

Now I know a little more about it and what you said makes sense to me. My mind will remain unchanged though until they leave the invite-only era. I may give it a try then and see. Pre-edit: I’ve actually joined the waitlist now because why not.

I’ve been against bluesky since I heard they’re invite only. It just won’t work, maybe future proves me wrong (as it usually does) but I just cannot physically believe in it.

There’s way better and bigger alternatives already (Mastodon, hello?). Mastodon’s federated as well. Everything I’ve known so far that was invite only really didn’t go far.

But I don’t know anything else about bluesky other than it’s a Twitter alternative and invite-only currently, so tell me if I’m wrong? (Obligatory :3)

FFA just means “free for all” (it’s a term from competitive games, in case you shouldn’t know), in this context I used it as another word for ‘legal’.

I know this is pretty radical, but if we made smoking FFA way fewer people should theoretically start smoking in the first place. From my experience when I was still at school most of the people there were only smoking because it’s “cool”, making smoking legal for everyone should take the coolness factor away at least.

I’m using Liftoff as well right now I wanted to take a look at Eternity a while ago but it just never came to that for some reason. Probably cause my main is kbin idk. Might as well just try it now that I’m reminded by the poll, I guess.

Edit: Well, Eternity doesn’t seem to handle logging in from lemmy.blahaj.zone yet. Or something else’s wrong with my credentials idk.

How come you’re only defending the people putting this hateful shit on there? You aren’t impressing anybody on here by “seeing both sides” if you’re only seeing the modders side.

Nexus removed a mod that may be (and has obviously been, because otherwise nobody would be making posts about it) perceived as hateful by others and you’re over here defending the modders that put that shit on there because “it’s political” from Nexus to take the obviously political mod down.

On the other hand you’re probably the type preaching about “Well Twitter is allowed to encourage hate speech on their site because it’s their website and they’re allowed to do whatever they want, you don’t have to use it if you feel attacked by that”, but Nexus is not? Nexus’ site-wide rules don’t count because they’re “pushing leftist agenda” by removing mods that were never allowed there to begin with?

“Why should NexusMods care if the mods exist?” why do you care so much if it doesn’t exist any longer? If you feel that attacked by the removal of an anti-pronouns mod you can just make a new one yourself or download it from somewhere else. Or just not give a fuck/be happy like every other normal functioning human being.

Would you care as much as to reply to this post, if they had instead instead removed a mod that added pronouns to a game? Would that not be imposing political views as well then? Or would you just not care because you care more about making non-binary people feel excluded rather than included?

You’re not making a point here. We are making this network a place that is inclusive to people all over the gender spectrum. Defending those that do not, is not making a point.

Problem for me is def going to be modding games, have they fixed alt tabbing between games and desktop yet at least? It used to “crash” the game for me if I tabbed out even for a second.

Used FlorisBoard for a good while, it’s the perfect replacement imo. I don’t remember exactly but there was a certain feature missing for me so I uninstalled it but it may have been implemented by now.
