I guess I just feel like there’s no point in paying for wireless if I don’t use it. But I might give it a shot.

This looks great, though I do wish there was a wired version.
This seems pretty nice, although I don’t love the look of it. Why do they need that weird logo? Just my opinion obv. But much appreciated, it nearly fits the bill.
Does anybody have any experience with it on Linux? Does it work with Piper?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Impulse buys are bad, we all know, but what was an impulse buy that proven to be a really good decision to you?
7·9 months agoAfter playing guitar for many years, I impulse bought a bass and it’s been a game changer. I found my instrument.
Gets better every time I watch it.

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•I want to finally degoogle my life and install GrapheneOS
4·1 year agoI’ve tried all the other map apps, and while they work great for navigation, there’s no replacement for reviews on Google Maps. So it’s the one Google service I still use.
If you need Google Play services I recommend installing them on a separate profile using Shelter. It’s really easy to do. I use that profile for Google Maps and a few other items the require Play services.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Which TV has a (mostly) ad-free OS and works with a few regular apps?
4·1 year agoI just ordered my first TV ever, and its a smart TV of course. My first choice would be to not connect it to the internet, but my wife wouldn’t like that. So i think ill just put it on its own network and block as many domains that it uses to phone home with as i can, without breaking functionality.
I’m using a work profile for Google Play. It was surprisingly easy to setup and there are few guides around. But basically you install Shelter, then clone Apps to the work profile. Open up Apps on the work profile and install google play services normally.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Do you daily drive Wayland, if so since when, if not when will you?
3·2 years agoIn 2017 I bought a ThinkPad with a hidpi screen, which I knew would give me trouble with Linux. Fortunately the Fedora 26 beta had just been released and was using Wayland by default (I wasn’t very Linux savvy to do it myself yet). I’ve been using Wayland on Fedora ever since without issue.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Alacritty, Konsole, or something else? Which terminal emulator do you recommend?
3·2 years agoI like wezterm a lot but lately have not been impressed with some breaking changes on the main branch. I know its basically a nightly release, but that’s the recommended way to install according to their website. The devs acknowledged it, and recommended using a tiling manager as the fix.
I didn’t know about this specifically, but I’m holding onto my 2017 ThinkPad until I can buy an Arm laptop and run Linux on it.
wezterm. Works great on wayland and the documentation is amazing. And it’s built in rust if you’re one of those people.
I have an old mini PC that I’m going to use with proxmox to share some of the load from my nas. Today I setup tailscale and for it working with unbound DNS so I can use my domain when connected.
It’s endless!
I’ve used mixplorer for ages, its been great.
Edit: nevermind, apparently its not open source.

KDE if you’re used to Windows, Gnome if you’re used to MacOS.
