Chat@beehaw.org•askBeehaw (not-so-serious edition): what's the dumbest thing you did as a teenager?English
0·3 years agoSo many, many choices.
I think my all-time dumbest came when I was about 22, so it doesn’t fit here. In my teens…probably driving drunk at speeds up to 100mph on the mountain roads up above Pasadena with the headlights off at night.

1·3 years agoI tend to wing it a lot with stew-ish things. Here’s one set of rough instructions:
- Saute any combo of mushrooms/onions/garlic/cherry tomatoes/peppers in olive oil
- Add 3 cups water/vegetable broth, bring to boil
- Stir in 1 cup green lentils/red lentils/yellow split peas/green split peas, stir as it comes back to a boil
- Season with salt/pepper/smoke seasoning/chili/whatever looks good
- Simmer 15-30 minutes till done
Freezes fine, though I usually eat it before it makes it to the freezer

1·3 years agoIn my opinion it’s unreasonable to think anything can truly be deleted in a federated system. Even if the official codebase is updated to do complete deletion & overwrite, it’s impossible to prevent some bad actor from federating in a fork that just ignores deletion requests.
Seems sensible to just not post anything that you don’t want to be available for the lifetime of the internet.

Their web site is down, but their Github account is currently still available, with 3D printing files and software for their microlab.
