probably just price. OpenAI does not have the edge over competition it once had.

This is not suprising. Anthropic models are clearly better than OpenAI ones. OpenAI no longer has a secret sauce that everyone wants to pay billions for.
Compared to Telegram’s 1-billion user base, it’s still a roundoff error.
In their defence, Abby is kind of thicc.
Nobody they know is on those platforms.
Nobody is on Signal either.
Signal was always better
I love the premise of Signal, but there are too many red flags. Some of my issues are:
- Hostility against 3rd party clients
- US-based legal entity
- Too much tied with Google libs on android
- No official Fdroid support
- Open source claims are undermined by code blackouts from time to time.
openstreetmap.org is a mappers website, not a map users website. It works great for mappers, but is horrible for people who want to use the map to find their way around.
I think the openstreetmap ecosystem really needs a better website for map users.
I see no benefit to using Waze. Openstreepmap works better.
First, google’s lawyers will not like that.
Second, in many places google maps data is not as good as Openstreetmap.
I use both OrganicMaps and OsmAnd. I find that OsmAnd is better for poweruser functions (like editing the map or recording a track), but OrganicMaps is a very simple navigation app that just works well.
It shows me where the speed cameras are :)
You can add the POIs and fill the gaps!
I disagree. It’s a step in the right direction, even if there is still a long distance to go.
My dad uses it. He’s as non-tech as non-tech gets. But I had to install it for him.
Openstreetmap is better than Google where I live (Anatolian side of İstanbul).
I left GoogleMaps a while ago, it worked fine for me. The only part of Google I can’t leave is Play Store. Aurora might be the best alternative there.
OrganicMaps is amazing. Strong recommend to everyone. I only recently found out about it.

101 million is too small for such an epic error.
