Jellyfin doesn’t seem to be as oriented towards music but will also work and many people use it for music

I buy music from Amazon music, hd tracks or band camp it’s all drm free and put it on my server behind a subsonic based server . That’ll give you the closest to a streaming service. Otherwise just sync music on your phone old school.
Depending on your washer door these style of locks work well

Lemmy is way less privacy oriented than reddit and that’s by design.

Linux@lemmy.ml•How the xz backdoor highlights a major flaw in Nix
222·2 years agoIsn’t that the risk of running an unstable build of anything?
Been using nixos for a couple months now. It’s nice and I really enjoy having all my configuration in one place and able to be version controlled. The down side being installing and configuring things take a bit more time to read how nix does it. I have it on a laptop that I’ve been playing with and removed it and put rocky for something else but I am 100% confident I can go right back to the way i had it.
So far the cons I’m seeing is installing vscode plugins are a little annoying and setting up to do python development on existing projects not very easy.
Highly recommend using lvm in the future. You can undersize your partitions and when whichever one you need more space on it’s easy to grow. Also really easy to live migrate to other drives as needed. Good luck.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Google will no longer hold onto people's location data in Google Maps — meaning it can't turn that info over to the police
82·2 years agoCurious on the implementation. For example apps like signal and WhatsApp require you to either move or lose your data when you get a new phone. This will have to be the way Google implements or they are storing it somewhere on their servers.
