I’m addicted to Broken Arrow. I haven’t played a war RTS since World In Conflict. I’m pretty terrible at it and it’s taking time to learn how to put together a deck, but I’m really enjoying the multiplayer.

Thanks, I might just binge it once all the episodes have aired.
To be honest I’ve only seen the first two episodes and they didn’t really grab me.
I enjoyed the books a lot when I read them, but never felt like it would adapt well to TV since so much exposition happens in the main character’s head.
Does it get better in later episodes?

Not going to lie, the GME Meltdown or whatever it was called sub on reddit gave me a lot of entertainment a few years ago, especially with the whole Bed Bath & Beyond saga and how the BBBY bag holders thought Ryan Cohen was going to save them too somehow.

I did like The Mountains of Mourning, but it felt a bit too local? It had a nice mystery/detective aspect to it

I think the person who made the page, made it in the late 90’s when they registered the domain, they probably only update the links and text 😅

Website last updated in 2016 should tell you all you need to know…

Haha yes I know. The books get recommended a lot over on r/printsf ( I really wish we had a community like this on lemmy), but I couldn’t get over the horrible romance novel type covers for a long time. Let us know what you think if you do read them!

They are definitely not literary or hard sci-fi, but I can’t deny they are very fun to read. Reminds me of watching Firefly in a way when it first released.

I believe Sony owns the Helldivers IP, so they may not have had much choice in the matter.

I play coop PVE games with random matchmaking, Helldivers 2 is still a lot of fun with random people.

Ice cream scoopin’, shittin’ poopin’, shittin’, poopin’
But more seriously, MF DOOM (RIP) is one of my favourite artists, but he’s been covered in a few comments already. But one of my favourites from him is:
Getting paid like a biker with the best crank
Spray it like a high-ranked sniper in the West Bank
I literally finished A Deepness in The Sky a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it.
RIP

I haven’t gone past ‘Challenging’ difficulty yet, but the friendly fire makes for some funny antics. Fighting against the robots feels quite different to the bugs too, it can make it feel like a different game.
DRG is great too, although haven’t played it in quite awhile.

I finished Alastair Reynold’s Pushing Ice a few months ago and it’s kind of close to what OP is looking for. Also a really good book!

I’m enjoying Helldivers 2. I’m too old for competitive games and love a good PvE co-op game.
It’s a little grindy to unlock weapons and stratagems, but feels about the same as the first game

Poop at work. Not only do you get paid to poop, you save money on toilet paper.

What’s the point of Denuvo on an always online live service game?

I was incredibly tempted to pre-order Starfield. Everything about it should be right up my alley. I love Sci-fi, space and all things related. But I learned my lesson after pre-ordering Diablo 4. I decided to try out the pirated version shortly after release and was so disappointed and glad I didn’t buy it. I dropped it after a few hours and had no desire to play it after that.
Also coming into it straight after playing Baldur’s Gate 3 made it look so dated. The plastic doll looking NPC’s and animations, boring dialogue and writing. I’m not even that into fantasy/D&D type settings and BG3 drew me in for many hours.
I really hope someone makes a game as good as BG3 but set in space, similar to Mass Effect etc.
Damn I didn’t even consider that honestly! It was an impulse buy because I was looking for something new to play. Can’t really refund either as I got it through a cdkey site. Feeling conflicted, but it’s been really fun 🙁
