It’s much smaller, lighter, and cheaper than a steam deck. Seems good for emulating retro games. Definitely a niche product, but cool.

Still plenty of Debian/Ubuntu out there. And with bazzite even Fedora’s getting in on gaming.

Arch distros have made some truly impressive gains in userbases recently, though. Especially for being based on a distro that explicitly eschews user-friendliness

It’s worth noting that steamOS, like any Linux distro has its issues and a bit of a learning curve. Especially if you want to go off the beaten track, it’s pretty much just using a stock arch distro.

As for if MS switched to Linux, no it wouldn’t be good because the issues with Win11 overwhelmingly aren’t a matter of incompetence or anything inherent to the code, but of conscious anti-consumer business decisions. There’s nothing about Linux that would actively stop MS from cramming telemetry, bloat, etc. In their distro.

I mean, considering how many incels voted for trump, I think we’re pretty much already there. Many of the young men who voted red this election already have no close relationships with any women their age. Obviously women should exercise their autonomy as they see fit. I don’t expect it to change how anyone votes.

I’ll probably be downvoted for this, but progressives have spent the last several years actively shutting down lines of communication with men, particularly white men. For the best of reasons, sure, but it hasn’t been an effective strategy for winning elections.

Maybe this would sway some group of center-left men who didn’t bother voting, but realistically I expect it will have no effect on the ongoing polarization, or exagerrate it.

It is very much state pride as well, and force of habit; most Americans don’t travel out of country much (for a few reasons) so we don’t often have to tell people where we’re from who don’t already have a good grasp of American geography.

Also, frankly, people can usually tell we’re American before we tell them, for better or worse. Might as well give you a bit more specificity.

You could probably sell Americans on lowering the drinking age in many States, but there’s some big legal hurdles and pretty much everyone agrees we’ve got bigger problems to deal with first.

It’s typically both. So little chlorine you won’t notice unless you have a particular condition like op or you’re doing something weird like growing algae. You can also just leave a glass of water out for a while and the chlorine will evaporate out of it.
