3·2 years agoEspecially if it makes it cheaper and taste the same and gets the same nutrients and shit. I’ll do it. But until then, I’m a meat eating, steak lover and that won’t change

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What Major Social Media Platforms Would You Like To See Federated Alternatives To That Don't Exist Yet?
1·2 years agoLocal will never take off tho.theres only one way that can happen and that one thing will never. It is if we broke up all the big social media companies.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What Major Social Media Platforms Would You Like To See Federated Alternatives To That Don't Exist Yet?
1·2 years agoI see we’re going with this, but it wouldn’t work. As there are already alternatives within the larger social media framework, like subreddits and sublemmings? How the hell you want to say it. With the point still stands, that regional social media will never work as there will always be better alternatives within a bigger social media platform

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL DuoLingo offers language courses for Klingon and High ValyrianEnglish
31·2 years agoOnly in the context that whatever is being spoken was “translated”. Not that they’re actually any rules or an entire vocabulary or just pretty much anything that a language has to have to be a language. It’s very convincing and that it might be a language to the lay person like you or me who gets fooled into thinking that it is a language, but the actual linguists and people who study language and such, it’s most definitely not a language.

83·2 years agoVerbs, tenses, conjugations, syntax, pronouns, etc. It takes more than translating sentences and words to make a language

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL DuoLingo offers language courses for Klingon and High ValyrianEnglish
71·2 years agoIt’s not. Because it lacks the elements for language. Everything you saw on the show was just translated for those specific sentences

281·2 years agoHigh Valerian also doesn’t have all the ingredients to become an actual language. All I did was translate words in sentences into the language for the show, but Klingon, it is an actual language and has been developed enough that you can call it a language

The days are either part of the toilet, or attached to the toilet using the screws in the back that hold your toilet lid down. You don’t waddle around at all. It’s the same toilet you do your business squirt your butt and if you stay there for a few minutes to drop dry, you don’t have to use any paper products whatsoever
