Probably will wait until a tear down video is available. Pebbles are nice devices but absolutely garbage at fixability.
You forgot to count 0. The alien should write 4 as 10, not 4.
You gotta enjoy it for less than… Check calendar… 7 months at least

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to deal with problematic construction workers?
2·2 years agoSorry if you already move on from this. I don’t know much about Nicaragua to say if you will have any luck with trying to ask the local government for help. However, I lived in a third world country before where if you escalate to the local government, all they do is shrug their shoulder and ask you to move on. Unless you are rich and powerful enough, which would negate all of these problem from even happening from the beginning, to have somebody in the “local government” to help then that road is typically a dead end.
Other stuff you can try is directly appealing to the working crews. Just a little bit of food and some greetings would sometimes give you a lot of information regarding who they are, who they are working for and what they are doing. If you know who they are working for, you can then go and appeal to them, which might solve your issue (or make it worse), but try to asset before reaching out just in-case. Knowing the crew might also reduce the annoyance since people tend to be more considerate around people they know. However, it might not help much if the crew is also under pressure and constraint from their contracts and workload.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How to deal with problematic construction workers?
4·2 years agoCan’t offer help without important details like where you are currently living and who hired the construction crew? Is that under construction building owned by your landlord? Is it some public funded projects? Are you living in Europe or Asia?

25·2 years agoYou still need to put in your phone number to use their increasingly limited service though. Either go full bare sms/RMS integration or go full anonymous username only. This half ass approach please no one.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some items that really aren't worth paying the expensive version for?
4·2 years agoIf you are seriously worried about privacy you could always use open source stuff. Some hardware from China has compatibility with open source firmware cause they’re built out of those projects. The software risk from that stuff is about as high as shit from anywhere else.

Is this just a kind of inflation/recession write off for the EU and USA at this point? oh, our economy is not doing so great, we are short by X% of development from project, let’s just write that off as ‘aids’ to Ukraine/Israel

Technology@lemmy.ml•Lawsuit alleges SpaceX underpays women and minorities
102·2 years agoCause the US government is just a bunch of corporations under a trench coach. They want to privatize space using public money just like everything else on Earth. If it’s not space X then it’s gonna be Boeing, Ratheon, Amazon, etc that take that position. The age of public space exploration is closing, be ready for enshittification and exploitation in space.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's something that you were surprised to find out a lot of people hate?
2·2 years agoOther people. Individualism is taken to it extreme limit where nobody else matter is the norm in the West. Why should “I” improve the life of any other people?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is the most unnecessarily excessive thing you have ever done to accomplish something?
3·2 years agoSounds really sensible to me. What’s the actual alternative in this case?
I have been in these kind of conversation a lot with my friends who work in tech. Even in tech circles, people wills till fall back to ‘unsafe’ solutions due to convenient an network effect. It sucks that we don’t have a universal protocal for instant messaging that work for all platforms and is secured (f**k Apple for that). At this point I agree that it’s just easier to just move on and use a normie chat app with burner accounts (which is increasingly harder to make nowadays)

Yeah, there’s a lot of niche software for specific needs that’s doesn’t have alternative or have subpar alternatives on Linux. Even as a full-time Linux users and supporter, I still have to acknowledge that the amount of investments gone into enterprise stuff over the year have basically made switching from Windows for a lot of professions almost impossible. Unless we start having more funding and development from state actors, the market share of OS won’t change significantly anytime soon.
