I thought I had seen a documentary about this…
The planetary alignment is a celestial event that occurs periodically within the solar system where Gaia and the other five planet gods known as the Astra Planeta align. The event was prophesied by the Fates to occur again 18 years after Hercules’ birth and would allow Hades to conduct a “hostile takeover” against Mt. Olympus with the help of the Titans.
Energy released by the planets lining up created a vortex that moved the water away from the place in the ocean where the Titans had been imprisoned by Zeus back when the Earth was new. Hades then broke the energy gate covering their prison and the Titans climbed free to begin an assault on the home of the gods. However, in their anger, they initially headed in the wrong direction until Hades got them turned around.

American copyright law? Basically every research institution in America pays them lots of money for electronic subscriptions in order to not get sued. Like academics don’t give a fuck and will use scihub or email a friend or whatever but their institution will just subscribe to a plausible number of things to avoid drawing the attention of the publishers. For profit research like pharma or industrial chem are even more buttoned up because they are much juicier targets for potential IP suits.
Well for the first several hundred years they actually produced a product that they mailed to people and that took employees and infra that the various unis didn’t care to have (with some exceptions for university presses like Oxford and Cambridge). Now it’s 100% momentum and branding. You publish in Science because that’s the impressive one for Science.

9·1 year agoYou can study for an IQ test and raise your grade so it doesn’t really measure anything important, just test taking ability, which I suspect is where a lot of other positive correlations between IQ and college admissions/outcomes/etc factor in
And now you have…oh my fucking god you have my hands give them back!! Oh wait I forgot to cover the mirror.

Not a scientist, but I think the BFD is that it’s 30k years old from a completely extinct branch of animals (unlike mammoths which are closely related to modern elephants) and the thing they found was a frozen tundra mummy not a fossil so it has soft tissue and stuff unlike other extinct animals we typically observe via fossils like dinosaurs
It’s the same calculation but you also take a shot of vodka for all integers less than n but greater than 0

One stray bullet and the entire farm gets asphyxiated
