That checks out.
Source: am photon.
I have actually seen that video. But my simplification is still correct, except that I should’ve used the word “behaves”. Because for the purposes of how it will behave the simplification shows the effects clearly.
If not touched the photon goes through both slits and interacts with itself, which is still super weird. Basically, it’s a wave if not touched, but a particle if touched.
Pro tip: square it to have real sex. But keep in mind that you might get negative sex.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•I wish the Steam Controller used AA batteriesEnglish
11·3 months agoJust have the magnetic puck exactly in the location where you leave your controller when not playing and done, never think about the battery and don’t swap things.

25·3 months agoI, for one, still don’t understand why you want to swap batteries. I’m assuming you’re talking about rechargable AA batteries, and not the environmental disaster that are single use batteries. How’s taking the batteries out, going to the charging station, swapping the batteries, returning and installing them back into the controller less convenient that just dropping the controller onto the recharging puck when it’s not in use?
So you have some special conditions where you can’t recharge the controller between sessions?

4·3 months agoThere’s usually not enough interesting things happening on the screen to maintain a child’s attention, it’s mostly just conversations. They might look at the screen occasionally but are unlikely to pay much attention.
Source: was children at some point, maybe.

5·3 months agoI mean, just because it happens fast or in an unnoticeable way doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. If somebody vaporized themselves instantly it’s still suicide. Sure, people would probably accept the fact that their original is being killed for convenience, but the fact stays.

10·3 months agoBecause technically, it’s a scanner + printer and not a mover. It’s just that the original is deliberately destroyed every time (unless something goes wrong *looks at Miles*).
IIRC, it’s even mentioned that people going through the transporter are cached. Like, they store snapshots, so you can compare the changes between older you and newer you. You can also store a person in buffer digitally, meaning you can copy and print as many as you want.
Shouldn’t it be “lie around”?
Huh. Well, to be fair it’s been a while since I played it…
Hmm… I don’t remember that being in the original.
