Oh I haven’t used microsoft office so I don’t know what it looks like. I just use what LibreOffice gives by default.

It would be nearly impossible to prove in a court of law that was not your real profile. All you’d have to do is say that is your travel phone and you don’t use it for much.

You could approximate this by simple having the main profile be left as a dummy profile and users use secondary profiles for their data. Then when you put the special code in it discretely deletes all but the main profile, leaving your dummy profile intact however you have set it up, and they’d have no idea your other profiles were where the data really was. They’d just unlock the phone, see the dummy profile, and think that was the phone.

I’m gonna agree with others that there need to be standards not a blanket ban. I’d leave it up to the admins/mods what those are. Because getting too granular with it wold be hard to enforce. You guys pick something you feel is reasonable and will cut down on 0 effort slop but also allows you to enforce things without digging through the minutia of every post.

Go ask ChatGPT to define hyperbole for you.

As stupid as that would be Bazzite or some other immutable distro with defender is still better than windows. But I highly doubt every single immutable distro will decide to do this either. Some might, but each team is going to make their own choice. And honestly its a great litmus test to know what never to install.

Did you make sure the non-free firmware repos are on?
I suggest taking a look at Organic Maps and while I don’t know much about your specific VPN providers just in general you need to do deep research on the ownership structure of it to make sure it has no ties to Israel or Zionists.
You are looking at this wrong. That is a false dichotomy. You don’t need to make your friends stop using the other apps. Just ask them to have both and use Signal to chat with you. What they do other than that is their own business. Sure, educate them, but don’t tell them what to do. If they downloaded the other app and you can talk to them there then your good to go delete the other one. Are you worried about missing some post of theirs on it or something? Who cares. You don’t need to see peoples lunches.
I’m gonna be super for real with you. If your friends won’t download an extra app to message you on then they’re not really that good of a friend. It’s such a small inconvenience. Omg I have to hit this other button on my touchscreen instead and spend 5 minutes setting it up?
This is how I’d do it. You send a message to your friends on instagram and whatsapp with your signal info and say, “Hey, not gonna be checking [this app] often and won’t have notifs on. Trying to be more responsible about my data, and social media use. If you need me or want to chat hit me up on Signal.”
If their response to that is “Okay well I don’t want to so I won’t talk to you anymore.” Then they’re not a friend worth keeping around anyway. Real friends are the people who will wake up at 3am and come pick you up from the airport when your coming home. Because they actually care about you, and when you actually care about someone you do inconvenient things for them.
Now, if by “friend” you mean some person you’ve never met that you chat with online sometimes and send funny videos to or whatever? That’s not really what I’d call a friend to begin with, and you’ll just have to accept that relationship isn’t very deep and it’s totally normal for them not to want to do something just to talk to you. And in that case you have to decide if you’d rather stop talking to them, or stay on the other apps. That’s entirely a you decision at that point.

I mean like even taking all that at face value. Do you not worry about the only way you have to talk to friends being discord? What if your account got banned? You’d have no way to contact anyone? I’d exchange numbers with a few of them atleast. Or emails. Having a backup way to communicate seems pretty important instead of relying entirely on a single service run by an unreliable company.

Do you people not have phone numbers?

How is refusing to install spyware on my computer being an asshole? You must be young. You’ll get to an age where you realize having principles and sticking to them makes life a lot more bearable than being a pushover.

Are these friends who you know well? If so why can your entire friend group not move to a different solution together? Do they refuse to?

Maybe among gamers? I don’t think it’s all that ubiquitous outside of that.

I mean you do. I don’t use it. If someone wants to use it I say I don’t have it and make them use something else.

If your game currently runs on your hardware with your distro then it is very unlikely it will stop running unless you change your handware or your software (like a major update). Can I promise 32 bit will be supported forever? No. But it’s certainly not going to suddenly stop working because of this.
I actually think the clearnet will just cease to exist. It will segment so that every country/jurisdiction has its own version of it. And then you’ll have the like singularly controlled corporate ecosystems like how so many people just think Facebook is the internet.
