It says that he forgot he even packed it, which is a bit tough to believe but makes the rest believable. He turned himself in upon landing, which means he will likely get off a lot easier because he made their job easier. He could’ve tried to hide it but that would’ve racked up the fines when he was caught.
The gun wasn’t supposed to go to the country but it did. So by turning it in he pretty much guaranteed the lowest possible punishment for the crime.
2·2 years agoEvery form of production will have defects. The goal of perfecting production is one to be sought, but never achieved. We should always try to make food production more efficient with less loss, but there will always be loss, and always be waste.
Even new means of production like lab grown beef can have waste and loss in batches that don’t “grow” properly because they didn’t mix hormones correctly or whatever. I actually don’t know how the science behind that works, but I do know it’s a process. And where there’s a process there’s room for error. That’s where we get loss from.
We’ll never make something fool proof. Perhaps lab grown meats will be the most efficient form of product in that they have the lowest loss and production can be tweaked fairly quickly so there’s not a lot of loss and ramped up for shipments to areas with food shortages. Honestly, lab grown in my opinion has the best chances of being a major breakthrough but it’s still too early to be sure.
These companies are scum. I worked in a call center that contracted to together health. That’s the company that used Joe Nameth in their commercials. I hadn’t sold insurance before so I went through all the training and they paid to get me certified to sell in 15 states.
Hit the phones and I just couldn’t sell for shit. None of us could. The whole Medicare thing in general is confusing as fuck and these seniors aren’t exactly all there in the head.
They brought in the CEO. Idk if he actually was the CEO but they claimed he was. He gave us all a “prep talk” that amounted to “say whatever you can to get the sale and let our lawyers work out the legality later down the road”
He wanted us to get people in strictly worse plans and find new doctors and everything for a quick buck. He was fully Willing to fuck elderly people for a paycheck. I didn’t listen. Tried selling by the book but I was always at the bottom of the barrel so I was trimmed off pretty quick and let go for “poor performance”. You wanna know who was getting all the sales? The fucking drug addict who OD’d in the middle of a sale on my last day and was carted out on a gurney. The same guy who was so clueless the day prior that he tried selling a health plan for a different company and had the gall to ask if he could sell it to them anyways.
If you want a Medicare advantage plan (which some have some really good benefits if you get the right company) you can call the phone number on the back of your Medicare card and go over plans with them. They are only there to provide information, not sell. While they can enroll you, they do not make more to enroll you or if you hang up. They do not get commission from any health insurer or anything. It is a government office with a database with every health plan offered and they simply put in your location, doctors, meds and ask some basic questions. Then they give you options for Whats available and answer your questions.

You can get an ID from the DMV that doesn’t grant you a drivers license, but the drivers license servers exactly the same purpose and allows you to drive, something 90% of the population want. So drivers license obviously is extremely more popular but you can get a plastic ID card similar to it from the DMV.
Except you can’t. People can deactivate this for each contact in their address book really easily. You can even create your own for each person and have that override theirs on your own phone.
Just bought one recently. We walked in and the guy immediately started showing us ones for as low as $200. I asked what the difference was between those and the display models and he started showing us some of the floor models. We really didn’t feel much difference between any of them. The ones leaning up were absolutely not worth it and uncomfortable but we went with a $1k hybrid because it felt the same as a $5k premium Stearns and Foster. We got a Sleepy with a medium stiffness. It’s a combination of memory foam and springs. It helped my back pain and I got the best night sleep in years the day we got it.

A single billionaire does more damage to the economy than every welfare program combined. Hoarding money is what crashes the market. We should never have billionaires. It should be illegal
My last raise was less than $2k/year. Our CEO got a raise of $50k… inflation has turned my “raise” into a loss. They’re throwing Pennies at everyone hoping they think they’re getting millions. Don’t fall for it.
I haven’t seen anything specifically as a “trend” but I’ve had a growing amount of paranoia that our entire economy in the US is on the verge of collapse. We keep pushing bigger profits and infinite growth so shareholders who contribute absolutely nothing to society can make more money but that money comes from somewhere. We can’t just magically make more money (we could but there’s multiple reasons we don’t. It doesn’t work out). It comes from the working class. And that working class isn’t getting raises but prices keep rising. I feel like it’s a giant bubble and when it explodes things are going to get really bad. I think people will actually die because we are on an economically unsustainable path and no one cares because everyone wants money now and doesn’t want anything else.
I’m pretty terrified of whats to come.

Ya, look up Johnstown PA. Home of one of the worst “natural disasters” in US history that happened to be caused by a rich asshole who didn’t care about people. This was the city that built Pittsburgh and it lost literally everything overnight and corrupt leaders made sure that industry never returned. We’re now known as a great stop on the PA drug highway because of the corruption. Nothings improved since they finally got out of the debt. It’s only gotten worse. And we’re still paying taxes on a flood from the 1800’s. Realistically they sold off the water lines to a private company and pocketed the profit and are publicly celebrating screwing people over. And it will never change.
My city privatized our water and is celebrating “being out of debt” meanwhile taxes are still rising and my water bill was $350 last month. My sewage another $120 through the same company. Not to mention I had to put $9k into “updating” my swear line to be compatible with the new company. And for every month I hadn’t updated I had to pay a $95 fee. I literally paid almost $600 a month a one point for fucking water. Homelessness is going up and people are ditching houses around here cause they can’t afford to live in a shithole but hey the city’s out of debt I guess?
Oh and I missed my payment my 2 days and got shut off last week so I’m expecting a high bill again in “restart” fees even though they didn’t have to send anyone out here for it.

Apple has very explicitly stated in very clear terms that the health app does not share data with other apps or devices unless you give permission. And as someone who has given that permission (twice, once to give a meal tracker write permission and once to link to my doctors office’s application for read and write) it’s for every application. It’s not a “hey you need to let everyone have access or no one”. You can get fairly granular.
There’s always the possibility of lying but usually when a company goes that hard on saying the same thing is so many different ways it’s legit. They don’t commit like that unless they know they won’t get in trouble. Those kinds of statements could open them to false advertising claims if it got out they were taking your health data.
