I was an AuDHD kid in the 90s. That specific word was thrown at me a lot by both adults and my peers, especially because I lose the ability to speak when I’m stressed/overstimulated. I guess it still hurts when I hear it or read it, and going off this thread that’s a “me” problem. Definitely regret posting my original comment

5·3 months agoSome of my allergies are seasonal. I can only eat cherries in late fall/winter, for example. I assume it’s linked to some pollens that are common in spring and summer. It’s not the case with seitan unfortunately

You’ll have a hard time sourcing some of these ingredients if you don’t live near an international market (in the US, at least). I’ve had okay luck using Weee! for most of the herbs in this recipe.

10·3 months agoI’ve only watched one movie in the last 10 years or so, it was required for a class. I’m glad it was Sinners because it is such a great movie to take apart in a classroom setting. That music scene that crossed eras is one I’ll never forget.

Persimmon can be blue, but that picture is edited and over-saturated. They’re darker and have a powder coat, like blueberries. Wouldn’t be surprised if the apple picture was also edited, but they can have pink flesh.

1·4 months agoIt made my life so much easier! I needed a carpal and cubital release in both arms and couldn’t even slice veg by the point I was entering hand therapy.
We’ll see if I still need it after the surgeries heal, if I don’t then I plan on donating it to an accessible device service in my state so it can help more people

3·4 months agoI think mine has stainless in it, because it’s cheap. If you have brass on hand, why not? I think it’ll be strong enough, I’d just wonder about corrosion at the point where it meets the board
