Where I said “so if I buy a PS4 that has cross-buy support with the Vita on a PS5”, I meant to say “so if I buy a PS4 game that has cross-buy…”. Is your answer still the same?

The cross-buy list seems to mostly serve the same use, thanks. So how does this work exactly? If the game is cross-buy compatible with PS3 & PS4, does that mean that buying it on PS3 or 4 will make the game become downloadable on the PS Vita too? And is the PS Vita Store still online? Can I buy a game for PS4 physically on disc and get access to the PS Vita game through cross-buy, or does it only work with digital games? Plus, you can buy PS4 games on the PS store for PS5, so if I buy a PS4 that has cross-buy support with the Vita on a PS5, will cross-buy still work and give me access to the game on the PS Vita?

Most of those games in your list I’m getting on other platforms though. Like The Walking Dead on PS4, Spelunky on GOG (PC), Hotline Miami on GOG, Rayman Origins I already own on GOG, MGS HD on PS5. But thanks for the small list, it’s a good one otherwise.

Thanks. Despite not owning a Vita, I’ve actually got a loose cartridge of Borderlands 2 somewhere which I’ve owned for like 5 years now, lol. I know it’s a bad port, but it seems like it would be a fun novelty to play on an overclocked console (I’ve seen some video tests and performance can really be boosted)

I’m going to be moving into a van in the next few years full-time, travelling around Australia and using gyms for showers and, well, exercise. I don’t know if it’s already an issue over here or not, but I sure hope it won’t be by the time I can move out in the van full-time, cause this is one of the best ways of accessing showers without building one into the van.

Hm. The link is actually a video on odysee.com. I’m experiencing no issues on my end, and it’s even letting me watch the video in a miniplayer within Lemmy itself. I’m using LibreWolf, a privacy fork of Firefox, so I don’t know if this is an issue on Chrome-based browsers or not.

Another cool one is an unofficial YouTube client app called ThirdTube which is pretty cool (and has 3D video playback if the video itself supports it). There’s an emulator for the Virtual Boy called Red Viper which just had a huge update recently, which made every game in the entire consoles library run accurately at full speed (and even the 3D from the original Virtual Boy works too!). You can add custom themes to your main menu with the app Anemone3DS and can make a backup of the save data for each of your games onto your SD card with an app called Checkpoint. They’re all my favourites; otherwise I haven’t explored a large amount of what is on offer still.

I recommend a Homebrew app called FTPD that lets you wireless transfer files to your computer, but if your on a New 3DS or New 2DS, it’s particularly handy because it reduces the amount of needing to screw open your entire 3DS each time you want to transfer files.

Sorry, what I heard about data sticking around after a factory reset unfortunately isn’t true. I’m sorry about that.

Hey, even though I’m not officially part of this project, I’m sorry to say that at least for the period of April 6, at 12PM to 4PM PDT (Pacific Daylight Time), the maintainer of the server mistakenly didn’t see that the server had run out of storage space. This means that any dumps made by anyone within this time period didn’t actually get archived in the end. The exact amount of time is unknown. This 4 hr period is just the least amount of time the server was down for, so for all he knows, it could have been for the entire day of April 6th up until 4PM in the afternoon (PDT). Again, even though this wasn’t because of me, I’m sorry about this. If you can, could you please make the dump one last time if possible? As the archive servers are now working correctly again. Thanks a lot for dumping. There is also (apparently) data that sticks around in the background from the previous console-owner if you got the console pre-owned, even if it was factory reset.

Since I last commented, I’ve learned that SpotPass data can still be stored in the background even after factory resetting (supposedly). So if you got your console pre-owned, there may be some SpotPass data to archive still hanging around.

Ohh, I just found out that notifications can’t be saved into the archive which is sad. I thought they could but I know now that they can’t.
