Meh, more inane rules that result in random bans for silly reasons. I mean hey, you do you, but dont expect the general public wandering in from various wide feeds such as the equivalent of all/new to know, let alone respect those rules.

At least it’s not one of those stupid “reaction face” thumbnails. A clickbait title is easy enough to parse as “not worth my time” but those punchable face thumbnails? Fuck me, the person that started that trend needs to find the nearest running belt sander and start licking.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Mozilla Acquires Anonym, Pioneering Privacy in Digital Ads
191·2 years agoSo how long until our options in dodging the endless waves of shitty ads have completely gone? Sure, there might not be indication of it now, but it’s probably a safe bet that Mozilla will try and pull some of the same shit Brave did in regards to ads/adblocking.
Thank fuck the internet as a whole is getting so shitty to the point it encourages us to go do something else. Turns out that avoiding the internet as a whole results in feeling a hell of a lot better about things in general.

11·2 years agoThe only news I care to hear about people wealthy enough to throw away others’ year’s salary for trends like this… is if and when they get punted square in the nuts.
So far, it’s been slow news on that front.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Americans, how do you feel about being stored in a database by government agencies like the NSA?
251·2 years ago<laughs in massive data breaches> Better buckle up Buttercup, because “being in a database” is a reality. Thanks to data breaches such as Equifax, pretty much every US citizen and all their important details are available in numerous databases.
We willingly purchase devices that listen and watch our every move… to be added to private, corporate databases that get sold around like cheap prostitutes. At least with government databases, voting gives at least a teeny, tiny modicum of control.
And even better, while I cant name specific breaches in relation to global populations, it’s a safe bet most everyone else is compromised as well.
On the bright side, at least it makes random identity theft occurring to any one particular individual akin to winning the PowerBall.
Everyone claiming to be nice is living a lie and ignoring that everything everyone does ever is essentially motivated by their own self-interests.
Recognizing that makes it a hell of a lot easier to deal with people and avoid buying into the forced bullshit that attempts to force itself into every aspect of life.

Games@sh.itjust.works•The Red Cross partners with Tetris to encourage US blood donations

Breakfast Bake:
Brown up some bacon, potatoes and onion. Doesn’t have to be cooked soft, but “al dente” is fine. Crack some eggs into a casserole dish, add in the browned up stuff. Bake at 325~ F for like 15~ minutes or until the egg is cooked. Throw some cheese on top for the last 5 minutes of baking if you’re feeling adventurous.
No real recipe as the amounts dont matter too much other than using enough eggs to cover the browned filling. If you use a glass dish, with the exception of the very edge, should also be relatively non-stick, so easy clean-up.
The “free speech” instances are just cesspools of a different shade. Sticking to any one singular platform, you’ll eventually notice them start to slide towards a groupthink/echochamber of sorts, regardless of the focus of the instance.
Easiest way is to just browse multiple instances of different types. At least the unhinged insanity of each side cancels each other out for the most part.

Might want to reconsider the mobo/cpu choice, given the current situation with Intel chips failing at a pretty high rate.
