Obtanium is an app where you enter webpage links to github repositories. Its easy. Its just simple copy and paste. Then it downloads and installs it for you while constantly checking for new versions just like an app store. Its great for apps not on F-Droid.

Awesome! Its just cool and refreshing to have a new audio player using new API’s and audio quality. Its fun. Mostly all the other yt apps are just which one actually works consistently for you and with which interface do you like? Quality is all the same.

You have to activate the plugins. Its nuts and really needs simplifying. Go into settings, plug ins and set your default meta source to Spotify and default audio source to youtube. It pulls all of it’s data to and from Spotify while pulling the audio from yt music. You have to make a generic Spotify account. Once it works its worth it. You do not have to sign in for yt music. Also in settings you can set it to pull from newpipe instead of yt directly. You can also set your audio quality in settings. Once that works you can try he dab HQ plugin. I haven’t gotten that to work yet but sent in an issue request.

Yeah my first attempt was 5.0. The interface was just too terrible. But now the quality makes it worth it. In the settings you can also set it to use Newpipe instead of YouTube directly. Which is awesome for a super nerd like me.

There is also Materialous as a backup to freetube on desktop Linux.

Man I’ve been a hot streak! I got NextDNS configured with Mulvad VPN and learned how to route Molly/signal through Tor. I also got a VPN router and was able to set NecxtDNS up on it as well.
