I fact that most if not all the modern git client/porcelaines are all obviously inspired or even clones of magit is telling, tbh. It’s an excellent piece of software and the daily driver of many, me included

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lab grown protein: if created, would you move to it?
31·1 year agoPeople showing empathy towards animals and their living condition isn’t exactly what I would label pseudoscience. It has nothing to do with science to begin with

51·1 year agoYou are not limited to meat and lab-created meat, you know? Vegetarians can tell you to eat eggs and cheese if you want. Vegans will tell you that there are large varieties of plant-based proteins, amongst: lentils, soy, whole cereals, even green vegetables. While these tend to not be as complete nor bio-available as meat or eggs, if you combine them you can have various, delicious and protein-rich meals. I am personally working out a lot and my mostly vegan diet (some eggs and cheese from time to time) is enough for my protein needs.
I mean, if your goal is to keep the meat experience, then yeah, I get your point. But other than that…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the funniest belief you had when you were a child ?
3·1 year agoEither I’m stupid or I’m right and relieved, but in French, I think, they’re the same words which led me to not understand why the “golf war” until quite late (early 20yo I think). I didn’t think it was about golfing or anything but… what golf are we talking about lmao?

Love you too ❤️ Merry Christmas !
We are really the same
Mariah Carey. All I want for Christmas is you is one of my comfort songs, it reminds me of so good memories. Sorry guys, I’m this person who listens to it unironically every year
I’ve always had a hard time switching from Google to any other search engine because the gap on quality. But since last year, Google’s results are getting worse and worse but on the other hand I have found DDG to be quite satisfying. So maybe their results have changed, but for me it was for the better.
Went here to say that. Imagine not having an absolute obsession, want to do the thing, but not thinking about it all day. You just… do it. Couldn’t be me. I wish I could have little side projects instead of just… comtemplating the idea of doing it for fucking years.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Switched from Manjaro to Fedora after being told Manjaro is "a bad distro" by many. Looking for a telnet terminal such as Syncterm to run on rpm or flatpak.
53·2 years agoYes same here, I’ve been using Manjaro for a few years since I’m too busy to waste an entire day setting up a naked Arch. I have had no single stability issue, thing is rock solid
On the counterpart, fedora has always felt like I can’t get a single package installed without the need for arcane
sudo magic tricksand my system being unable to update anymore at the end of the process. I know that the problem probably lies between the bed and the keyboard, but come on, I am skilled enough to install and rice an Archlinux and manage my AUR packages without problems, but can’t install GCC on fedora? Hmmm…And I’m not even mentioning conflicts and packages being unavailable either because your version of fedora is too young or too old

What’s the problem with Skouirrelle? :^)
