The sun was made from the last fruit of Laurelin (one of the two great trees) and is being shipped around the sky on a cart. Legolas has never seen the light of Valinor, i believe he was born after the trees died. It’s definitely not visible at all times to the elves, since even before the world was turned round it went below it out of sight at night-time. Presumably the elves still see the sun affect only parts of the world, they can just see beyond the horizon.
Edit: as an aside, the last remaining silmaril is the Evening star that shines in the west.
Yea I’m using it for now, the community is very nice even if the founders are trash.
Cave Johnson is that you?
I wonder if that’s where the mass effect devs got the inspiration for the mass relay design
Hey you did also have Tolkien. Not gonna say everything’s forgiven, but he pulls a lot of weight.
Yea that’s how i remember it
That’s such a good response, damn
Me when i spread misinformation
i think it’s partly because it’s often very easy for experts to overestimate what non-experts know, even people with some knowledge in the field (relevant xkcd as usual), so it’s probably easier to just dumb it down as much as you possibly can. That way you’re sure most people can actually understand.

Proofreading involves more than just checking grammar, and AIs aren’t perfect. I would never put my name on something to get published publicly like this without reading it through at least once myself.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Male players: Why do you play female characters?
9·2 years agoI like being pretty, and men in games usually aren’t (at least to the same degree). Why choose to look worse than i could?
most of the supergiant games tbh, hades and transistor both have some beautiful scenes as well.

262·2 years agoLuckily an entirely uncorrupt government is not necessary, since that is indeed quite unlikely to ever happen. It is enough to have low corruption, which is much more achievable.

It’s typically for posting to platforms that “deprioritise” posts that contain “naughty” words, not actually anything about humans caring about it.
