I am poor and had wieners, flour, baking powder, a little onion, and some taco seasoning. Lets see what you do with the same ingredients and 15 minutes. 😜

I am also looking for a linux smart phone at the moment. I have not found many that don’t seem to be sold out, or aren’t quite there yet.
If I find anything promising I will edit.

3·5 months agoThank you for the detailed response and help! It is funny because I am actually working on learning the functions you are recommending (I am working through “Automate the boring stuff with python”) and it is literally the chapter I am on now. haha
I do have plans to modify the translation in the future, which is why I set it up the way I did. But your recommendation is a lot cleaner than what I had in mind so I likely would have had a lot of redundant code even with my plan to add later.
This helps a lot, and again thank you for taking the time on this. I appreciate it!

4·5 months agoSounds to me like if someone doesn’t like my code, they have options! haha
I will likely look into things like that as I get more of my code out there, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain it.
I do see the point of the style guide, and I am learning it over time, but I will die on the hill of camelCase. haha

I run my code using the idle python shell while I write, and then directly through my terminal when they are finished.
What benefit does running them through pylint or black offer?
Is the Gatekeeping in the room with us right now?
Whether you like trouble shooting or not, if you use Linux, you need to get used to it and good at it.
The best tip I received when starting on Linux was “Break shit”, and I believe it is still the best advice out there.
Keep an install ready, and go to town on your distro of choice. Test commands, turn things on and off, delete things, move things, and literally break shit. Then see if you can put it back together again. If not, install a fresh one and try again.
Repeat until you get it. haha

Linux@lemmy.ml•I could use some troubleshooting help for a Linux laptop
5·6 months agoI had the exact same problem with a Lenovo laptop when trying to get Mint on to it for my partner. Unfortunately I do not remember how the hell I managed it because I had the same issue as non of the keys would get me where I needed to go. I know I held the key before turning on the computer though, and I am pretty sure it was the esc key.
Sorry I couldn’t be more help. But lenovo laptops can eat all the dicks. haha

“Pigs in a blanket” was originally a UK dish with sausage wrapped in bacon. I am however poor, and without bacon or sausage, so I settled for Hotdogs and bread. haha
Also, not American.
