Dismantled an old bed and wanted to keep the nuts, bolts, screws and washers. Probably the first time in over 4 decades I’ve managed to reuse such a bag :)

I have a whole drawer in my utility closet for Ikea leftovers. One day, I swear I’m gonna use an extra caster or twist screw thing. I swear!
I have a big coffee can that I throw any leftover washers, screws, nuts, etc. I especially like odd little fasteners. Occasionally, I’ll need something for a project, and I dig through coffee can, and I’m often rewarded with what I need.
I do the same with ANY old wall adapters. When I’m getting rid of an old piece of electronic gear, I always keep the adapter, and toss it the box. I buy a lot of used audio and music gear, and I can almost always find an adapter in my collection.
It takes years to build these collections, and you have to hide them, and protect them from spouses who simply don’t understand.
