I’ve been self-employed for 3 years now and have been getting by with a shitty floor light. Now I finally decided that it was time to commit and invest those 45 euros on a proper one.
This is so much better than the one I had before. I can actually see what I’m doing here without needing to constantly adjust the light and move it to a better position. Why did I torture myself these 3 years with it. Same deal with the wall sander there. Should’ve bought it the first time I got a major drywall job. I never learn.

I have a love/hate relationship with those lights.
I assume these are at least LED, unlike the burninator halogen they used to be. Plus the halogen broke easily, especially since these damn things love to fall over from being top-heavy and the damn cord.
Yeah, they’re LEDs and the kind that you can quite easily replace if either one breaks. Also, fully opened the legs span about a meter which should be plenty sturdy.
Whenever possible I try and rig up some kind of overhead lighting, but especially when painting / plastering, getting that sidelight with long shadows is essential for a smooth finish.
I was working recently inside a room with 2 diesel tanks at the back. Someone plugged in one of those halogen lights that we all know from 15 years ago and by god the heat that thing put off nearly incinerated me, let alone the rogue diesel fumes… Terrifying how long those were a DIY staple…
