And some design considerations do seem fairly human. They seem like an artist probably created a digital illustration of the standard duck mascot, then created a digital illustration of a pop culture character, overlayed the two illustrations, and selectively removed certain layers of each illustration in order to combine the two into one cohesive character.
I am by no means an expert at spotting AI, but I do not think an AI would place the mask under the duck bill like this. That seems do me like a rather human decision. But I may just be wrong about how AI works.
