TNG was such an advancement over TOS - it wasn’t incremental at all, but a massive progression.
I kind of agree too that if there’s one area where TNG didn’t advance as much as I’d prefer is the music. I like to fall asleep to the TV series audio at night and I converted the episodes to mp3. The strings are very shrill at times though!
