I would have at least tried, but I was with my family and didn’t want to abandon them.
The star wars equivalent of this is dropping a tactical nuke with the question of modern or old lore and then asking for their favorite era.
I’m unaware of any star wars fan that would say new. Especially if you count episode 1 as new
