Thank you, this is exactly my thought. I really want to use GIMP, i just literally can’t. I even managed to get used to Inkscape as an ex Illustrator user. I would say I can use any random graphics designer tool after roughly 20 minutes of getting used to the UI, since most of the workflows are copied from others. GIMP always wanted to be different. And that’s the reason it never got popular and it will stay like that, unless something changes.
Maybe, someone will be able to use the GIMP core and put a revamped UI on top of it. Call it LIMP to minimize anger from GIMP evangelists.

The UI of GIMP sucked and still sucks. Nothing is going to change that.
After using so many different tools, on all platforms, with great or shitty UI, I have seen it all — I still hate GIMP.

All good and if you are one of the contributors, you earn all the respect. By now, Emby will have a hard time to keep up with the development speed of Jellyfin. I just miss a few very important QoL features. I truly believe it is only a matter of time until they are added.
A Netflix-like login screen, where you can see all the users and they are just protected by a simple PIN.
I recently tested Jellyfin again and still miss a lot of features I like with Plex. I am a former Emby user and I don’t see why Jellyfin got so popular. I really want it to succeed, though

That’s not entirely accurate. All metadata is encrypted, too, with the only exception of your IP. But there are ways to hide that, too, if necessary. So you only see the IP, date-time and how much data is transferred. But you will never see what was transferred or what is stored.
Yeah right, so much better to have your e-mails stored in clear text. With E2EE, I don’t give any fucks about local laws. My data stays my data.
