I philosoph around a lot. It’s not good for my mind.

The story so far: In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
The very same Douglas Adams
For how many more articles are they gonna milk the “story”?

3·20 days agoWell, unlike God this at least sounds possible, even though yeah, it’s a pointless discussion, not provable nor unprovable.

2·20 days agoNo, we can’t prove we’re in a simulation or outside of it. We can prove that we can’t currently create such a simulation but that doesn’t change anything.

12·20 days agoWhat a bunch of nonsense. So, pseudo-scientists repeat after me: you cannot derive rules of the outer universe from the inner universe.
The only way to “prove” the hypothesis is if an admin sends a message or leaves some other way for us to discover we’re in a simulation, other than that it’s unprovable and undisprovable.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Why do game devs keep making horrible Linux Ports?English
12·1 month agoIt’s gonna be different case by case, but my best guess would be it starts as wanting to please the community, then realising Linux users get weird errors they never hear about from Windows users and then deciding that all 5 Linux users are not worth it if the issue doesn’t concern majority (Windows) users.
As for missing features, usually it happens because they use some Windows-native feature (like direct DirectX calls) which saves them implementing workarounds for their engine. And porting to some Linux api is delayed indefinitely for the same reasons as bug fixes: not large enough user base.
Linux gamers often say stuff like “it’s literally one toggle in [insert game engine here]” but that’s never the case. Doesn’t mean new devs don’t fall for it.
IMO we should fuck native Linux builds - game engines are complex and messy beasts, building on one platform and testing on Proton is the best for everyone, IMO.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Why do game devs keep making horrible Linux Ports?English
623·1 month agoBecause it costs money to maintain that most indie studios don’t have given the small target audience. I simply always use Proton, even if a native version exists.

251·1 month agoOh, fuck off Nothing, you were to be my next phone! Now I need to find a different European brand which does high-end smartphones. Which means only HMD remains unless something changed in the last few months.
Hmm, expected something more impressive.
CNC = consensual non-consent, basically roleplaying being forced into sex.
The other CNC is a machine for creating physical stuff using computer. Like a laser cutter or a 3D printer. No idea what the actual meaning of the abbreviation is.

Don’t know the first one, though I do skip all non-essential episodes on rewatches.
