I have a PhD in research psychology, and worked with researchers in a lot of other disciplines. I have been mansplained about topics in my field (including the topic of my dissertation) by more MBAs than any other field. More often than not they are vastly oversimplifying or just getting things completely wrong. Try telling them that though and it’s like talking to a wall.

Having seen what the film industry did to Borderlands, my expectations are at about zero for this.

Isn’t the multi-player immersive sim thing what Arcane was going for with Redfall? That one didn’t work out so well…
I love these games. I replay them both every few years and they are still fun. I’m still pissed about what happened to Arcane Studios and what could have been had the big corpos not done their usual bs.
Okay so after skimming the article I saw that they developed what they call a “family of shapes” that were optimized for minimal heat transfer–but they didn’t provide any visuals? The images they showed in the article were of commonly available glasses instead. Couldn’t they sketch one up based on their models?

Not a lawyer, but it seems like changing the ball throwing mechanic is an admission that they are taking ideas from Nintendo. Maybe they are trying to minimize the damage but still seems like they are weakening their position.
Yep, and I’m still never buying a Playstation. Not worth chasing exclusives when there are plenty of good games on PC.

Yep, happened to Arcane Austin. Redfall was a disaster because Bethesda couldn’t wrap their heads around the fact that Arcane made (awesome) single player games and not MMOs. Hopefully history won’t repeat itself.
It also sucks for the hiring manager who has to interview candidates they know they won’t hire just to stick to the process. It’s a waste of everyone’s time.
Yeah I do think there is something to the culture of MBA programs. All the information available for current and prospective students at my university was very much of the tone that mbas change the world. The halls of the business school were filled with famous rich people who’d visited the school or gifted money along with plaques about MBA grads and the amazing things they did. It’s just full of subtle reminders about how the degree is a gateway to being some big powerful person. I’m sure that makes an impact on the students’ attitudes.
